Not the same game as the one released for the Atari 2600, but a home port of Sega's arcade reworking that combined elements of it with the original Pitfall.

Revisional Differences#

Pitfall II was released 3 months before the Sega Mark III, and like a lot of SG-1000 games its graphics do not benefit from the Mark III's compatibility palette used when playing games from the older console. However, unlike most other SG-1000 games, Pitfall II got a revision that addressed this by tweaking colour selection with an eye for improved visual clarity on the Mark III.

v1.0 (SG-1000)

v1.1 (SG-1000)

When played on an SG-1000, the two versions display palettes that are noticeably different when compared directly but still relatively similar.

v1.0 (Mark III/Master System)

v1.1 (Mark III/Master System)

When played on a Mark III or Master System, the visual differences are stark. In particular, the player sprite and underground portions appear much darker in the v1.0 graphics.
