My Little Pony: PC Play Pack is the second PC game in the My Little Pony franchise and the first one in the third generation.

Unused Graphics and Objects#

Beauty Salon#

Unused Sweater#

This sweater is the only unused piece of clothing in the beauty salon. It may have been left out by mistake because there is an empty space in the closet where it could have fit.

Unused Jewelry#

Some unused graphics for jewelry. The file bs_jb25.tga is almost identical to the used file bs_jb23.tga, but it lacks highlighting for when the jewelry is moused over.

Demo Leftovers#

Rainbow Dash's hairstyles and a picture frame from the demo are left in the files of the beauty salon game. The picture frame is similar to the frame that shows up when the player takes a picture in the final game, but it is smaller and does not have buttons superimposed over it. Rainbow Dash's hairstyles are not used in the final game because the only ponies available to dress up are Sunny Daze, Skywishes, Sparkleworks, and Pinkie Pie.

Placeholders#

Hats

Hairstyles

Trash Can
There is no used trash can icon in the beauty salon because the only way to delete accessories is to drag them off of the pony.

Miscellaneous#

An image of Pinkie Pie in an unused pose with corresponding mouths.

Cake Cafe#

Placeholder Toppings#

A set of placeholder images for cake toppings. In the final game, there are no candy toppings to put on the cake, only candles.

Unused UI Elements#

Cake Saving UI

Internal design documents from November 2003 reveal that the player would have originally been able to save up to three cakes: a single-layered circular cake, a two-layered circular cake, and a three-layered circular cake.4 This UI overlay would have shown the cakes that the player had saved. The four buttons at the bottom would have allowed the player to save, photograph, delete, or keep decorating the cake that they just decorated.5 In the final game, only the most recent cake that the player decorated is saved.

Placeholder Buttons

Several placeholder buttons for the cake cafe. There is no used equivalent for the file cc_back.tga.

Placeholder Recipe Text

Two unused pieces of text for the recipe sheet written in a placeholder font, presumably meant to be used if the player adds multiple of the same ingredient or too many ingredients to fit on the page. They have no used equivalents.

Miscellaneous#

Placeholder images of numbers and fake text. The purpose of both is unclear.
