Madagascar (Game Boy Advance)

Madagascar on Game Boy Advance is a platformer that is based on the DreamWorks animated movie and not the country, sadly. It has a very similar structure to Vicarious Visions's previous DreamWorks-themed game on GBA, Shrek 2.

Unused Text#

At 0xBABC8 is a leftover from the Nintendo DS version:

Ask your friend to select Download Play
on their Nintendo DS system.

At 0x7FFFF8 is text that translates to "double speed". It probably refers to Team Baisoku, a group of programmers who are credited on several Vicarious Visions GBA games.

Regional Differences#

• In every non-English translation, characters do not have a voice clip when the player switches characters, with a drum sound effect playing instead. Characters also do not have a victory quote when finishing a level.
• The credits cannot be accessed from the main menu in the Japanese version.
• In Subway Surfers, there is a coin which is positioned inside a rat in the North American and European versions. This rat has a chance to not spawn, making it impossible to collect all the coins in the area without dying. In the Japanese version, the coin was relocated to appear on the wall at the beginning of the area, below another coin.
