Harvest Moon DS Cute: because apparently the original wasn't cute enough. This time you're a girl, which the Japanese and Korean titles make more obvious.
Most, if not all, of the unused content is carried over to here.

GBA Link#
In addition to the A Wonderful Life GBA-link features removed in the US Boy version, the US Cute version also removes the bonus CDs obtainable from the GBA games, (More) Friends of Mineral Town. However, it's still possible to invite the extra characters from (More) Friends of Mineral Town by having the game plugged into the DS' GBA slot. Unlike the original bachelorettes in Harvest Moon DS, marrying a bachelor from More Friends of Mineral Town won't immediately end your game.
"Best Friend" System#
|
|
To do: |
When Marvelous ported the code from the Boy version, they retained the Boy-version love events with Leia, Witch, Keria, and the Goddess, who are marriage candidates in the Japanese version, using a system called the "Best Friends" system. This includes all the Heart Events and text used during wedding ceremonies and other romance related events.
In the American version, though, they are no longer possible to marry, as they will reject your Blue Feather. Despite that, their "Best Friend" Heart events and Love Points can still be viewed. Natsume mentioned that this was done to avoid alienating the games' target audience.
The option to marry same-sex characters would finally return in international versions of Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town.
