Geometry Dash SubZero

This page is rather stubbly and could use some expansion.
Are you a bad enough dude to rescue this article?

Geometry Dash SubZero is another free version of Geometry Dash, this time basing on an early version of the then-upcoming Update 2.2 (before it infamously got delayed for the next six years). Like the other Geometry Dash games, it has unused stuff.

Having more detail is always a good thing.

There's a whole lotta words here, but not enough pictures. Please fix this.

Like Geometry Dash World, the level editor is in the game but unaccessable. It can be accessed via modifications, however, it has only some new triggers and new backgrounds. It doesn't have the new gamemode, textures or any levels from the full version, Meltdown or World. The main level songs from the full game (excluding the new songs from 2.2) are in the editor but don’t play due to missing audio files.

Update 2.21.3#

In July 2022, Geometry Dash SubZero received a significant update alongside the other free Geometry Dash games, mainly due to Google Play and the Apple App Store taking down apps that have not been updated in a certain amount of time. However, unlike the other free games, SubZero's update was delayed due to the levels being broken in the newer build of 2.2. Notably, this update overhauled the secret coins in the levels due to them being rather rushed in the initial version.

  • Press Start received minor changes to its coins. The third coin wasn't changed.
    • The hidden coin area during the ship section at 67% was given more glow for accessibility purposes.
    • The second coin during the single screen cube segment at 74% was changed to now be floating instead of sliding in from the bottom of the screen when the platforms rearranged.
  • Nock Em received minor changes to its coins, but the third coin was significantly altered
    • The first coin was made more obvious by adding a red circle to the fake blocks at 5%.
    • The second coin was nerfed by moving the key at 42% slightly lower and changing the color to stand out.
    • The third coin at 90% was given a major overhaul. The fake wall the player must walk through as the spider is now indicated with dotted lines, and the player must also now quickly avoid two sawblades to get the coin, then perform a well timed click to return to the original route.
  • Power Trip received the most drastic overhaul regarding the coins, with all of them being reworked. A bug was also fixed for the iOS version where the second coin had an ID of 1, making the level have two first coins and making it impossible to collect all three coins. This bug wasn't present in the Android version.
    • At 26%, the pillars now visually split apart, creating a clear but tight gap. The player must slide through this gap and hit a green orb at 27% to collect the first coin.
    • The second coin was completely overhauled, requiring the player to hit an invisible custom orb while going through the first teleport portal, which unlocks an invisible red orb to collect the coin at 38%.
    • The third coin now requires the player to click four times separately at 60% on the random message; the text will flash red with each tap and turn green once the task is complete. The coin is now rewarded instantly instead of requiring the player to complete the level to collect the coin.
