Unused Spells#

Invulnerable#

As its name implies, this temporarily makes a creature invulnerable. It is cast by creatures on other creatures.

Dark Angel Firebomb#

Dark Angels have a cut firebomb move, it's functionally identical to the Warlock's firebomb but with a 33% faster recharge time. It was likely cut as creatures only have 3 moves normally.

Magical Items#

  • Kill creature - Lets you select an enemy creature in your realm to kill.
  • Transfer creature - Untested.

Level Select#

To skip to a specific level, run the game with the -level -q (where levelname is either 'level' for a campaign level, or 'secret' for a secret level, followed, without a space, by a number) parameters.1

Unused Textures#

Hero-owned areas in Dungeon Keeper 2 have different coats of arms depending on the level, with some levels sharing the same coat of arms (some can only be seen by editing the level externally). There are a total of 20 coats of arms found in the graphics extracts, but seven of these are unused: five do not appear anywhere, one only appears if you edit the level "Carnage" to include hero-owned reinforced walls, and the other one only appears in briefing screenshots before certain levels.

Unused Sprites#

There's a bunch of unused icons left over from the first Dungeon Keeper, although they're heavily discoloured.

Crypt (Cut Room)#

There are strings in Text.str pertaining to the Crypt, which does not appear nor is mentioned at any point in the game. It is unknown what it did, but the strings suggest it was a room of some kind:

You have taken over an enemy Crypt
You have destroyed an enemy Crypt
Your Crypt has been destroyed
One of your Crypts has been destroyed
The enemy has taken your Crypt
You have claimed a Crypt
Your Crypt is under attack
Your Crypt is still not functional! You must enlarge it.
