Densetsu no Stafy 4

Development Text#

Beginning at offset 0xE1B600 and finishing at offset 0xE22000 is some mysterious development text in the EUC-JP encoding, with a list of offsets within it. See Notes:Densetsu no Stafy 4 for more information.

Conversation Test#

'...But does it make sense?'

From 0x82AD7 is a conversation test by Moe (Kyorosuke), involving one of the public telephones normally appearing in areas before completing the game. It seems to be stored close to Stage 1 text and may also involve Moe's younger siblings:

おとと = Younger brother (おとうと), and This probably means a Cute fish (Ototo-chan, Toto, とと = "魚", In Japanese, it is an infant or dialect word meaning Fish.).

After pressing Moe's Button, end (the test)

As for me, the great Moe.. I don't have time (for these tests) so I won't bother.

Super Princess Peach Leftovers#

Leftovers from Super Princess Peach exist in the game. Other than the unused models (detailed under a separate heading), the Koopalings and square/triangle blocks similar to blocks in Super Mario World are documented, however, there is likely to be more.

Stage 6 Cutscene Texture Text#

In the texture file "ddemo s06_l" for Stage 6 (Flourishing Desert) which contains certain Arcy graphics, there is some hand-drawn placeholder text "ぼよ", meaning "pot". Arcy is the boss for this Stage, who attacks using pots.

Unused Music#

Present in the ROM are three songs which are never used in-game. They all share an ominous theme.

There are also nine duplicates of the Stage 1, Lobber's Villa music. The three unused songs and the duplicates do not appear in the sound test: the internal list has only 58 entries, one of which is for the not unlocked yet songs ("☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆"), and another one is unused and called "なしきょく58"("No Track 58"). They are only accessible through hacking.

Unused Models#

More! http://starfywiki.org/wiki/Densetsu_no_Starfy_4/Unused_Content/Unused_Models

Various unused 3D models are stored in the game's G3D directory. Many of these are shared with the Japanese version of Super Princess Peach but a few, including some Galaga graphics and files relating to a yellow ninja, are in Densetsu no Stafy 4 but not Super Princess Peach (unlike files for green, purple, and black ninjas).

Note that 3D models are used in Densetsu no Stafy 4, but only for a few elements of the gameplay including the Opening, Stage backgrounds, and the background for the dance screen for when a boss is defeated.
