Costume Quest

From the minds who brought you Psychonauts, Costume Quest is a party-based RPG about twins who love Halloween. Humorously(?), there is a Steam Achievement for playing the game during Christmas.

A sequel was released in 2014.

Unused Sounds#

Voice.fsb#

Added after the Amnesia Fortnight prototype, these sounds go unused. These were most likely placeholders for Wren, Reynold, interactions with NPCs, and trick-or-treating.

Hey, you big meanie. I know you've got my kitty and I've come to take him back.

Ha. You think that dime store reject costume will defeat me. Come claim your precious stuffed cat if you dare.

Trick or Treat.

Oh my. What an adorable little thing.

Yes! More chocolate. More chocolate for everybody.

Nice costume kid. Now take some of this candy before I eat it all myself.

The first rule of Halloween is no costume no candy. Come prepared next time.

It's like totally in ethical to give a kid with no costume Halloween candy.

You come to my door with no costume and expect some candy? Kids these days have no respect.

Did you lose your costume too? My kid swears he lost his favourite costume piece in the Pumpkin Patch this morning.

Trick or Treat. Smell my feet. Some little kid is about to get beat.

Did you get that costume out of the trash?

As a professional monster, your terrible costume offends me on a deeply personal level.

I've got a fever and the only cure is taking your candy.

Friend, let me think, you get a trick earlier.

You've cleaned me out. Go away and let me enjoy my sugar coma in peace.

Sorry, you bought us out. You are now fully equip to take all the candy in the neighbourhood.

Here you go, one Dragon costume. I'll even take your old pitiful costume off your hands.

Excellent choice, you can't go wrong with the Robot.

You now wield the power of Lady Liberty.

Unused Costumes#

These costumes can be accessed by modifying the Outfit field in an existing save file. They are not normally obtainable in gameplay. They load correctly in the overworld and have battle transformation cutscenes.

Normally, costume constructing happens automatically. However, if you edit an existing save file you can set an already-acquired costume's Acquired value from 1 to 0, letting the player manually construct the costume themself.
