There are a ton of unused sounds and music left in the files.
Loading Jingles#
Sounds that were meant to play when loading into the game.
laser_load_01#
Quite a classic, isn't it?
The filename is reminiscent of Project Laser, the original prototype name for Brawl Stars. laser_load_01 was regularly used up until the March update in 2020. While it was used again in the first ever Brawl Pass release, it was an accident on the developers' part (see brawzaar_load_01). Later versions would use their respective Brawl Pass season's loading sound.
- Technically* speaking, this sound is still used on the loading screen, but this happens when a loading sound isn't downloaded yet or is missing from the sounds folder.
brawzaar_load_01#
Found in Version 27. This sound was going to be used during Season 1 - Tara's Bazaar, but the default loading sound (laser_load_01.ogg) was used instead.
xmas_load_01#
This sound was going to be used during Brawlidays in December 2020, but brawl_xmas_load_01 was used instead, which sounds very similar.
krampus_load_01#
This sound was going to be used during the Dark Brawlidays event in December 2022, but dark_xmas_load_01 was used instead, which sounds exactly the same but it doesn't fade out at the end.
brawl_stunt_2_load_01#
Found in Version 43. This sound was going to be used for Season 12 - Stunt Show. Similarly to what happened with Season 1's unused loading jingle, the default loading sound (laser_load_01.ogg) was used instead.
spongebrawl_load_01#
Found in Version 57, which was the SpongeBob Update. This sound was going to be used for Season 30, but a different SpongeBob loading jingle was used instead.
katana_brawl_load_01#
Found in Version 57. This sound was going to be used for the Early Access release of Kenji in late September/early October 2024, but the Ayakashi Clan loading jingle was used instead.
dark_once_upon_load_01#
Also found in Version 57. This sound was going to be used for Season 31 - Scary Tales, but the Once Upon A Brawl loading jingle was used instead.
goodrandoms_load_01#
Found in Version 60. This sound was going to be used for Season 35 - Good Randoms, but Melodie's loading jingle was used instead.
trophy_road_loading_01#
Found in Version 62. The intended use for this sound is unknown but according to themes.csv, it would've been used under the "StarrPark25" theme but Version 63 made it so that the StarrPark25 theme instead uses the Subway Surfers loading jingle
Menu Sounds#
Sounds meant to be used in menus.
friend_online_01#
Sound meant to play when a friend goes online.
join_game_room_01#
Sound meant for joining lobbies.
leave_game_room_01#
Sound meant for leaving lobbies.
blink_01#
A sound effect possibly meant for the sliding UI parts of the match results screen, as a similarly named sound effect, blink_01v2, is used for said purpose.
get_pickup_02#
A rather interesting sound. There is another sound similarly called get_pickup_06, which is the sound for picking up a Gem, however they don't seem to be related, as sounds.csv lists this sound as ui_dust_gain, which doesn't go used anywhere, but implies it was somehow supposed to be used in the menus.
shield_03#
Sound meant for activating some type of shield. According to sounds.csv, this sound was somehow supposed to be used in the menus, as it is listed as ui_upgradium_gain.
ranked_sp_01#
Judging by the filename, this sound would have been used in Ranked, but it's not known what for.
club_league_weekly_comp_event_board_green_check_01#
This sound was meant to be used when you completed the weekly event in Club League.
angelic_item_select_07#
A sound meant to play when selecting an Angelic Power Card in the Angels Vs. Demons event of November 2024.
disney_claw_gacha_01#
An unused sound meant to be used in the Pizza Planet shop when grabbing a free pack. Found in Version 59.
brawl_jumpscare_01#
A sound meant to play when getting jumpscared from the Pumpkin Boxes during the Brawl-o-ween 2025 Event. JUMPSCARE WARNING, this sound is a bit too spooky, which is probably why it went unused.
starrdrop_tap#
Several unused sounds meant to play when tapping a Starr Drop. There is one for each rarity.
starrdrop_tap_01 (Rare) starrdrop_tap_02 (Super Rare) starrdrop_tap_03 (Epic) starrdrop_tap_04 (Mythic) starrdrop_tap_05 (Legendary)
Record Level 11 and 12 Sounds#
Sounds meant to be played when unlocking Record Level 11 and 12. These sounds go unused due to Level 11 and 12 being currently unobtainable (maximum obtainable Record Level is 10).
achivement_battle_card_11
achivement_battle_card_12
In-Game Sounds#
Sounds meant to be used during gameplay.
orb_glow_03#
An apparent looping version of the power cube pick-up sound (as indicated in sounds.csv). There's no reason the power cube sound should loop in the first place, which is why this goes unused.
orb_glow_01/02#
Unlike orb_glow_03, these sounds were deleted in earlier versions of the game. They likely had a similar purpose.
poison_loop_01#
A looping sound that would play whenever the player goes near the poison gas in Showdown.
brawl_ball_kick_01#
An unused version of kicking a ball in Brawl Ball.
bullet_rico_grass_01#
An unused sound that would play when shooting into grass. There is another similar sound named bullet_rico_grass_02 which has since replaced this one.
emote_vuvu_01#
An unused sound effect for the Vuvuzela Pin. It is unknown why it's unused - probably because it doesn't sync with the animation.
godzilla_building_destroyed_bad_01#
A sound effect that was meant to be used in the Godzilla City Smash game mode when an enemy player destroyed a building. Found in v55.
angelic_spawn_01#
Judging by the filename, this sound would've been used in the Spirit Wars game mode, specifically when an Angelic creature is summoned near the turret.
Announcer Voice Lines#
The announcer can only be heard in some game modes, like Brawl Ball and Wipeout, but according to some unused voice lines, his commentary was supposed to appear in every game mode.
Solo Showdown#
Duo Showdown#
Solo/Duo/Trio Showdown#

Kenji Voice Line#
Kenji_start_vo_07japanese
A voice line for Kenji that was used when starting a match. It was removed at some point, probably because of players thinking Kenji's voice actor said the n-word, but he actually says "The base metal appears!" in Japanese.
Dread Knight Draco Voiceline#
ddracos_kill_vo_07
An unused voice line for Dread Knight Draco when killing an enemy. For some reason, the file is empty, and the audio does not exist.
Scorpion Chuck Voice Line#
scorpion_chuck_hurt_vo_02
An unused voice line for Scorpion Chuck whenever he gets hurt. This was removed at some point because he says a swear word in Italian.
Colt Super Voice Line#
hotshot_ulti_05
A voice line for Colt when he uses his Super. It was previously used in earlier iOS beta versions of the game, but was removed from the game's files altogether later on. Interestingly, this voiceline uses a different voice actor.

A sound meant for Piper's Super when she drops a grenade.
Leftover Sounds#
Sounds that were used in earlier versions of the game and were supposed to be deleted, but weren't.
Beta Leftovers#
become_chips_01
This sound was used when receiving Chips from a duplicate Brawler in the early beta versions of the game. Chips were eventually removed, making these sounds obsolete.
guntown_select_char_01 An unused gunshot sound. This sound was played when selecting a Brawler and initiating matchmaking in early softlaunch versions of the game.
Tickets#
get_tickets_01 count_tickets_01 emit_tickets_01
Before the Brawl Pass update in May of 2020, Special Events could only be played with Tickets. These tickets could be obtained from Brawl Boxes before the March update in 2020. After their removal, their sound effects still remained in the files.
Star Tokens#
count_starkeys_01 emit_starkeys_01
Star Tokens suffered the same fate as Tickets. Their files are named "starkey" due to being named as such in beta releases.
Experience#
get_xp_01 Sound that played when collecting XP.

Other#
craft_rarity_02#
Sound used in earlier versions of the game when a unlocking a badge from one the original upgrading systems.

A sound which was played after purchasing the Brawl Pass. Was used only once in Version 27, and was completely replaced and left over in Version 28.
Leftover Project Laser Sounds#
Sounds leftover from Project Laser from version 1 of the game. (check the prerelease article for more details).
Robot Brawler sounds#
robocon_01 The voice of an unused Brawler from Project Laser (which is most likely the Fast Melee Bot seen in Robo Rumble, Boss Fight and at the top of the training cave we know today, seen in prototype footage), alongside them shooting rockets.
robo_death The voice of an unused Brawler from Project Laser (which is most likely the Fast Melee Bot mentioned earlier), supposed to be played when they died.
deadyey_shot_01#
A firing noise. Based on how it sounds and its filename, it may have been used for firing some sort of cannon.
Planet Whooshing#
planet_whoosh_01 planet_whoosh_02 planet_whoosh_03 A few unused whooshing noises, meant for ambience. Originally, the game was set to take place in space, explaining the filename.
male_death#
Various grunts meant for an unnamed male character.
female_pain#
Grunts meant for an unnamed female character.
These male_pain and female_pain sounds are actually heard in the First Brawl Stars tournament video that was uploaded on the same day the game released.
timedgrenade/solgrenade01#
Based on the sounds.csv entry name and filename, this sound was meant for some sort of grenade. No Brawler currently throws grenades over obstacles, so this is most likely a leftover from Project Laser.
Alien Brawler sounds#
alien_die alien_hit alien_melee_01 Sounds for an alien creature attacking, getting hurt and dying. Weirdly enough, alien_shot_01 and alien_die_02 were referred to as Squiddy_fire and Squiddy_die respectively in sounds.csv. VOLUME WARNING,"alien_die_01" is loud for some reason.
Squid Alien Brawler sounds#
squid_alien_hurt squid_alien_step_01 Sounds for a squid alien creature getting hurt and walking.
Rhino sounds#
rhino_util rhinodeath Rhino was a prototype character for Bull (whose sound effects still have the name "rhino" in their filenames!), having four sound effects left over - two for dying and two for using a Super . The second sound of the Super sounds seems to be a duplicate of the first with a charging sound effect added at the end.
Miscellaneous/Debug Sounds#
Unused sounds that don't seem to have any connection to things already in the game, that are possibly used for testing.
dummy.ogg (Rinocharge)#
There is a sound file just called "dummy.ogg", possibly used to test playing sounds. Simularly to "ddracos_kill_vo_07" , it has no audio. Interestingly, it seems to be used in an unused sound slot in sounds.csv titled Rhinocharge, which based on the name, was supposed to be used when Bull uses his Super.
zxing_beep#
A loud beep, possibly just a test sound. This file also appears in res/raw. Just like the debug font, this appears in every Supercell game.
Music#
Menu Music#
good_randoms_menu_01#
Found in Version 59. Like its loading jingle, this was going to be used for Season 35 but ended up unused. Instead Melodie's menu music was used.
uno_menu_music_01#
Found in Version 60.399. This song was meant to be used for the Uno Collab Event but got replaced in Version 60.420 by Mystery at the Hub's battle music due to being generated by AI.
trophy_road_menu_01#
Also found in Version 62. The intended use for this track is unknown but its file name suggests that it would be used for the Trophy Road. It would've been used under the "StarrPark25" theme but Version 63 made it so that the StarrPark25 theme instead uses the Subway Surfers music.
Subway Surfers Menu Tracks#
These tracks come directly from Subway Surfers and were supposed to be used as the second menu music for the Weeks 1-4. For some reason, the tracks only play for about half a second to a full second before switching to the first menu music, which was used for the entire duration of the event.
Week 1 (sybo_subway_ny_theme)
Called "Running Together" in Subway Surfers.
Week 2 (sybo_subway_berlin_theme)
Called "BERLIN" in Subway Surfers.
Week 3 (sybo_subway_rio_theme)
Called "VAMOS DANÇAR" in Subway Surfers. Due to Mina's Early Access event taking priority, this theme was never used.
Week 4 (sybo_subway_tokyo_theme)
Called "TOKYO" in Subway Surfers.
In-Game/Battle Music#
brawlzilla_boss_01#
Found in Version 28. This track was going to play when playing in the removed Super City Rampage game mode. Instead the two versions of the Summer of Monsters battle music were used.
basket_brawl_ingame_music_01#
As the name of this file implies, this song was going to play when playing Basket Brawl.
uno_menu_ingame_music_01#
Also found in Version 60.399. This song was meant to be used in the Uno Game Mode but got replaced in V60.420 by Retropolis' battle music due to being generated by AI.
subway_brawlstars_2_v2#
Found in Version 63. This track was meant to be used in the Subway Surfers environment but the default battle tracks are used instead. This track ended up being used in Subway Surfers for the Brawl Stars Showdown mode.
Jae-Yong Extended Gadget Music#
While not fully unused, the full versions of Jae-Yong's Gadget music are only played for the Gadget's duration, that being 5 seconds. The only way to hear the full tracks is by disconnecting while the gadgets are active.
