Battlefield Vietnam is an FPS that was heavily built off of the earlier Battlefield 1942. Unlike that game, which had literally no cut content, this game has several bits of unused stuff.

Unused Weapons#

Flare Gun#

Fully modeled and has numerous animations and dynamic effects involved with its flares, but is soundless, and its flares act more like mini napalm bombs than actual flares, without the damaging effects. If the flare is fired at a vehicle, a small fire will start in the area the flare lands.

Commando Knife#

A weapon originally included in the "Secret Weapons of WWII" expansion of Battlefield 1942, the commando knife can be found in the Battlefield Vietnam game files. Its attack material is "throwing knife projectile", and indeed, its original iteration was a throwing knife. However, it has the animations and design of the Battlefield 1942 knives rather than the throwing knife of the same game. Its model, however, is of the same design as the U.S./ARVN knife of Battlefield Vietnam. This hints that the commando knife was never intended to be used in Vietnam, and is simply legacy coding from 1942.
