Cut Maps

This article has a talk page!
view on tcrf.net

This is a sub-page of Proto:Counter-Strike: Condition Zero.

as_destown#

A cut Assassination mode map, set in a desert town (or is it deserted town?). The map has two escape points for the VIP, one of them being a Blackhawk helicopter and the other an APC.

T Spawn. CT Spawn. The APC escape zone. The Blackhawk escape zone.

cs_desertbunker#

A map themed around a bunker in the middle of a desert. Nearly all textures for it are missing, making the map hard to navigate. Also, this map uses a skybox that is missing in the files named "desnoon", therefore it defaults to the standard "desert" skybox from Half-Life. Only one pre-release screenshot of the map exists online, which provides an insight as to how the map may have looked like.

CT Spawn. T Spawn.

These missing textures were supposed to be used on the map. A few of these textures can be found elsewhere, notably Deleted Scenes:

cs_penal#

A jungle-themed map set in a cell block. This map doesn't have a properly-defined skybox and uses the default "desert" skybox from Half-Life. The mission briefing refers to the map as "Riot in Cell Block 9".

CT Spawn. T Spawn. Sewers.

Riot in Cell Block 9 - Hostage Rescue

Ritual Entertainment

Counter-Terrorists: Infiltrate the compound and rescue the hostages from the convicts.

Terrorists: Prevent the Counter-Terrorists
from rescuing the Hostages or eliminate
the Counter-Terrorists.

(Press FIRE to continue)

cs_miami#

A Miami-themed map that was cut from Condition Zero, however, it was released with Counter-Strike‍ 's Xbox port. Compared to the latter's version, this version has an entire sewer area behind the CT spawn that goes under the bank; much like the Deleted Scenes mission it was based on, "Miami Heat".

cs_truth#

A version of the map de_truth for the Hostage Rescue mode. This Hostage Rescue version was the original version, first developed by Gearbox Software. Both maps would end up as bases for the "Truth in Chaos" mission.

de_bridge#

A Bomb Defuse mode map set in a European city. This map was originally designed by Gearbox Software for the Assassination game mode, but was changed to Defuse. This version of the map appears to be broken, with misaligned tetures, one functional bombsite and leftover "hostage rescue point" decals, indicating that Ritual Entertainment decompiled the map rather than using its source file.

de_bridge served as the base for the Counter-Strike: Condition Zero Deleted Scenes mission "Motorcade Assault", using its textures and some geometry.

de_CityofSin#

A defuse map set around a rather generic-looking city. Its lighting appears to be broken.

A city of nothing but sin...

T Spawn. CT Spawn. Bombsite A. Bombsite B.

de_quarry#

A Bomb Defuse mode map set in and around a quarry, created by Christopher "narby" Auty.1 This map uses 16 spawn points for Terrorists and 13 for Counter-Terrorists. Some of the Counter-Terrorist spawn points are placed outside of the buy zone for some reason. Visually, it makes extensive use of models for details; all of which can be found in Counter-Strike 1.6‍ 's files, unused.

While the map was cut from Condition Zero, it was later redesigned and released by its creator as a custom map in 2004.

de_rubble#

Another defuse map, this time about chemical agents! It is set in an unknown industrial building.

This map would later get re-tooled by Kiltron himself and released as a Counter-Strike: Condition Zero Deleted Scenes custom mission named "Terrorist Retaliation", where the player is a Terrorist instead of a Counter-Terrorist.

Mission Briefing

Rubble - Bomb/Defuse

Thearrel 'Kiltron' McKinney
Ritual Entertainment
(http://www.ritual.com/)

Terrorists have developed a deadly DNA
altering chemical which manipulates the
body's DNA structure causing bloodviens[sic]
to harden solid within minutes. They
were trying to ship this chemical out to
other allied countries, but plans were
interupted[sic]. So in retaliation, they've
decided to explode and spread the
chemical here, in hopes of infecting
CT's to aid in they're escape.

Counter-Terrorists: Prevent Terrorists
from bombing crates containing DNA
altering chemical agents.
Team members must defuse any bombs
that threaten targeted areas.

Terrorists: The Terrorist carrying the
C4 must detonate one of the chemical
altering agent shipments.

Community-made Maps#

Turtle Rock Studios created various .nav files for certain community-made maps which were popular at the time, such as fy_iceworld and aim_akcolt2.
