This page contains notes for the game Fallout: New Vegas.
Multiple memory dumps were recovered for earlier builds of this game from an old Xbox-360 Devkit. While the game is running, some of the data is loaded directly into the console's RAM to reduce load times. The ESM, or "Elder Scrolls Master" file contains all the game's functions and info. This includes quests, scripts, conditions and more. This file is essential to the game's function, and is partially loaded into the console's RAM at all times. When the game crashes, a memory dump is created, this is the contents of the console's RAM at the time of the crash. This means that while the below builds have not been found, the memory dumps provide partial ESM data for them and help show how they differed from the final game. With the use of the Fallout-Xbox-360-utils program hosted on Github, it is possible to analyse what remains of the leftover ESM data.
Builds
Partial ESM data has been recovered from the following builds, with a few exceptions. Some of the available builds contain little to no ESM data, heavily limiting their usefulness - these are noted below as incomplete dumps. The build dates were determined using the compilation dates of numerous .exe (executable) files recovered from the dumps.
Changes
Some of the builds have enough changes present to warrant their own pages, links to these can be found on the above table. For builds where only few or relatively minor changes have been found, these are noted on this page instead.

Boulder City#
An early layout of Boulder City back when it was part of the main game world and not segregated into its own worldspace is present in this build. Notably, there are a number of unused placements present in this build for the unused Boulder City Workers. One is present leaning on a wall just to the right of the door that leads into the Big Horn Saloon, with the other five present inside. There is a placement for Ranger Stella present here as well, in the final she is the last opponent fought in The Fort's arena, suggesting her role in the game was different originally.

Return To Sender#
A number of unused quest objectives for the quest Return To Sender are present, back when the first and second phases of the quest occurred simultaneously. They also show the player would've needed to re-visit all the Ranger Stations, not just Alpha, Delta and Foxtrot as in the final.

Ranger Chauncy#

An unused placement for the cut NPC Ranger Chauncy is present in this build. He is placed at the south entrance to the Ranger Station. A patrol marker is present for him as well, named FoxtrotSMPatrol, that sees him travel a short distance away from the Outpost along the dirt path.
