To do:
|
A developer wiki for Wii Fit Plus was included in the September 9, 2020, Nintendo leak. The page names were originally in EUC-JP, being converted to hexadecimal to avoid mojibake problems. The file paths listed below rely on the corrected names.
Debug Banner#
There's an internal site made for the development of the game. Seen on filenames and this header image for the site, it may be suggested that the game might have been called/code-named "Extra Balance" throughout the development process. "デバッグ用仕様ぺージ" translates to "debugging specification page".
Experiment Items#
|
|
To do: |
Present in カテゴリ.html is a section entitled "実験ネタ," literally meaning "experimental items/listings." The below items are scrapped ideas for games that were either included in the game, transferred to other projects (such as Wii Sports Resort), postponed to Wii Fit U, or abandoned. Page creation dates are sourced from LIST.html.

Two-Seat Bobsleigh |
Page created on July 1, 2008. A two-player game where the Balance Board is set vertically, with each player sitting on one end of it. After an initial "acceleration zone" section where the players would push the bobsleigh before boarding it for the "sliding zone" (it is unclear how the players can push the board), they would shift their weight in different directions to change the direction of the bobsleigh to clear a course. Proposed by Kunio Watanabe. |

3-on-3 |
Page created on June 26, 2008. A game where the player moves around on the Balance Board while moving their Wii Remote as if they were playing basketball. When catching and shooting the ball, the A and B buttons are pressed together. Proposed by Yugo Hayashi. |

お使いジョギング |
Helping Jog |
Page created on April 28, 2008. A variant of the running activities where the player, early on, receives a phone call through the Wii Remote's speaker that recites to them a shopping list. The player would then have to jog in the direction of the various storefronts to obtain each item (the buying happens automatically). Proposed by Hiroshi Matsunaga. |

Page created on March 24, 2008. Provides simple outlines of the pet body checks, as well as the advanced balance tests involving the brain. Proposed by Kunio Watanabe. |

しゃがんでリズム |
Squatting Rhythm |
Page created on April 28, 2008. A game where the player would match an example Mii's squatting and leaning positions to the music. Proposed by Hiroshi Matsunaga, who based it off of a demo that sound effects designer Yohei Miyagawa created and proposed during the development of Wii Fit. |
Possibly reworked into the Dance activities in Wii Fit U. Diagram has a very similar layout to that of the "Octopus Dance" game in Nintendo Land. |
|
じゃんけんMii |
Mii Rock-Paper-Scissors |
Page created on April 28, 2008. A balance test where the player plays rock-paper-scissors against Miis by moving their body in different positions (squatting to throw Rock, stepping off of the Balance Board with one foot to throw Paper, and standing still with both feet on the Balance Board to throw Scissors). The Miis would throw their hand first, and the player would respond afterward by playing the correct move needed to win. Proposed by Hiroshi Matsunaga, based off of a game from Brain Age 2: More Training in Minutes a Day!. |

Unused here, but would continue to appear in the Brain Age series. |
どちらが大きい? |
Which One Is Greater? |
Page created on June 4, 2008. A balance test where the player would be presented with two horizontal bars on screen surrounded by a number on each side. The player would use the Wii Remote to rotate the upper bar, and shift their weight on the Balance Board to rotate the lower bar. By rotating the bars, the player could then form the less than, greater than, and equal to symbols. Proposed by Kentaro Tominaga. |

Reworked into the Memory Test present in the final game. |
まねっこ Mii |
Copy Mii |
Page created on April 28, 2008. A game where the player would copy a Mii's on-screen actions. For the advanced difficulty, the player would be told to switch the left and right sides of their poses and continue to do that until presented with that message again. Proposed by Makoto Miyanaga. |
|
Reworked into Rhythm Kung Fu. |
アイススケート |
Ice Skating |
Page created on July 22, 2008. A game where the player would mimic ice skating by lifting each foot off of the Balance Board, avoiding obstacles and eventually having to complete a very thin section in order to clear the track. Proposed by Kentaro Tominaga, who suggested using the Sherbet Land track from Mario Kart 64 as the stage, as well as an inline skating variant for the European and North American audiences. |

ウィーボからのメール |
Emails from the Balance Board |
Page created on July 2, 2008. A feature where either the player could receive automated in-character emails from the Trainer to remind them to train when they haven't trained after a certain amount of time and to achieve their weight goals, or regular health tips from the Balance Board. The player could adjust the frequencies of these emails in the settings, and they were intended to be used with mobile phones. Proposed by Yugo Hayashi. |

My Wii Fit Plus#
There is a really low-resolution image of an early My Wii Fit Plus calorie goal screen. This older version uses the beer icon left-over in the final game.
Assertion Handler#
According to 必要なアドレス情報.html, the assertion handler from the EGG library (left intact in programs such as the Mii Channel) was present in debug and development builds before being stripped from the retail release of the game.
