Unobtainable Medals

This is a sub-page of Yo-kai Watch Land.

Due to the app being linked to the real medals made by Hasbro internationally (outside of Japan and Asia), a number of medals that weren't released have associated assets in the game files, including unique unused and earlier translated biographies of Yo-kai Watch 2 Yo-kai.

Some of these Yo-kai, using the QR codes distributed by Nintendo, can be befriended, but those who never had a physical release cannot.

All Yo-kai that were not programmed into the Hasbro toy, except for Whatuption and Harry Barry, were released by Bandai in Japan, and the QR codes on those medals work in all versions of Yo-kai Watch 2. Whatuption is known to have QR code data in at least Yo-kai Watch: Puni Puni, and it (due to being a Local Yo-kai) along with Harry Barry are still programmed into the Bandai version of the DX Yo-kai Watch Type Zero toy.

Meganyan is given to the player for free, but is programmed into neither the Hasbro nor Bandai physical toys and has no associated QR code data in-game.

Although Komajiro's Yo-Motion medal was released, its QR code on medals sold in the Americas does not function properly. The European version of the medal has a working QR code.

Noway's Yo-Motion QR code does not work in the game because the code used to unlock Noway is the same as the code used to unlock Gargaros in the game's internal files. Both Yo-kai are unlocked upon scanning the QR code, although only Noway is initially shown once scanned by the camera. Jibanyan's Next HarMEOWny medal (HAS2176v2) QR code does not work in the game either, because the code used to unlock it is the same as the code used to unlock Jibanyan's standard Yo-Motion medal (HAS1093-2) from Series 1, using Season 1 artwork, in the game's internal files.

Due to using the same QR code data, Lafalotta's Yo-Motion medal can be unlocked in the game by scanning Chymera's Yo-Motion 2X B medal.

Brave#

Charming#
