Changes from the Legacy Versions

This is a sub-page of The Henry Stickmin Collection.

To do:
Get clips of the different animations. Certain images for comparisons are also ideal to include.

When the four Flash titles (excluding Breaking the Bank) were ported to the collection, the graphics were almost effectively redone with every environment brought up to the level of detail in Completing the Mission. Since Collection is a paid game, almost every sound effect and music track ripped from a previous source was replaced due to copyright reasons. While some music tracks from Newgrounds artists remain, some were replaced by new compositions for the game.

This page won't cover changed sound effects, music, or graphics since it would be too exhaustive for the scope of this page. In addition, Breaking the Bank won't be covered since the version in Collection is effectively a remake, due to the original being too stiff and basic to directly remaster, according to PuffballsUnited. What will be covered, however, are changed animations, option names, and fail screen text.

Escaping the Prison#

The animations of Henry closing the door after throwing a grenade, climbing into the air duct, and crawling through the air duct have all been replaced. A new animation for Henry catching the bullet and throwing it was also added. Two female prison staff members (Jen Bruhn and Sally Cue) have had their hair color changed from red to brown and blonde respectively, in order to prevent them from getting confused with Ellie. Lastly, all the referenced lawyer characters listed on the cellphone Henry uses, have had their names listed to mainly show their last names instead of their full names, and Phoenix Wright, the main reference character from the Ace Attorney series, has also been renamed to Felix White for copyright reasons due to his more prominent role in the Lawyered Up rank. Speaking of which, the shovel from Breaking the Bank in the Evidence List has been replaced with floor plans of the bank in the remaster.

Jetpack (Initial 'fake-out' Fail)

Wow... That was the lamest thing I've ever seen. The animator must have gotten REALLY lazy or something. I mean honestly that was probably the dumbest FAIL I've seen in this entire movie! So anyway, what do you think about the movie so far? Enjoying it? It's taken quite a while, and as I'm typing this it has yet to be completed. I doubt you'll be able to read this far down unless you figure out a way to pause or do some other sneaky thing. Laaaammmmeee!

Stealing the Diamond#

The worth of the Tunisian Diamond in the opening cutscene has been changed from 12 million dollars to 112 million dollars. The Teleporter animation is slightly different; in the original, Henry slowly descended onto the roof after being teleported. In the remaster, he instead falls on his face. Also on the same section, a tall wall has been added on background of the rooftop section of the muesum.

Similarly, the Invisibility fail is different: the gag of Henry falling off the roof is absent in the remaster (likely due to a wall being added to the rooftop background) and is instead replaced with the camera quickly moving from left to right and cuts to the updated fail text: "What happened? I lost track of you.". The fail text referencing Captain Falcon was changed to prevent copyrights from Nintendo accordingly. The backdoor area of the museum seen in the Unseen Burglar route, has been flipped compared to the flash original, likely done for better continuity from the previous indoor section.

Henry in the opening choices scene has been moved from the left to the right of the helicopter hanger as he looks towards the airship. The damaged airship falls backwards instead of forwards in the Banana Bomb fail as a small animated physics correction. The banana reference seen in Banana Bomb fail screen has had a logo change from the Nintendo 64 style one to a Toppat logo in a similar colorscheme. Herb Stokes, the crane operator seen in the chase through the Warehouse with Henry in the cannon ball, has had his hat changed from originally being a grey fuse of both a top hat and a regular hard hat, to just simply wearing a top hat above a normal bright yellow hard hat. The prison doors in the Brig have been redrawn to look more like doors rather than prison bars (the unknown knocked out second prisoner from the flash version is now gone or likely not visible). The ending scene of the Master Bounty Hunter rank, was also changed from night to day. The Zelda "Biggoron's Sword" easter egg has been renamed to "Biggol Sword". The disc in the CCC labeled "D.E.B" when loaded in as part of a fail, originally stood for "Dark Energy Blaster", this was renamed to "Dark Energy Bomb" in the remaster. And in addition, the "Lightning Quick Larcenist" fails text no longer has a soundtrack link.

Fleeing the Complex#

Fleeing the Complex is probably the closest to a port in the collection since the vast majority of its unused animatics are still present. One of the main noticeable changes from the original flash is that the ending for the Presumed Dead rank, closes with Henry walking in the cold with a scarf on, the original flash version instead had a shot of a plane taking off quite far in the distance.
