Unused Levels#
There is a test level known as "Whitebox" which is buried deep in the files.
The "Whitebox" focuses on the games mechanics. Interestingly, a newspaper boy model, a bus stop and taxi stop prop can be seen near the very end of the video. These are never seen during normal gameplay and are left unused. According to earlier builds, there are references and scripting for these assets which imply their planned implementation into the game but never happened. Watch on YouTube

Surprisingly, MANY of them were cut before release! The Pinky Rings, Chain Wrap, Brass Knuckles, Garotte Rope, Sledgehammer, Plumber Wrench, PistolBasePlusExtendedGripPlusSilencer and RailshooterTommyGun are the weapons in question that were cut. According to earlier builds and internal EA assets, many of them WERE planned to be put into the game very early on but were scrapped for unknown reasons. The pistol plus silencer and its other associated items would go on to become the Hertzstopper, which is a DLC Level 4 Pistol weapon upgrade for the Xbox 360 and Don's Edition versions of the game. The 2X4, Poolcue, Tire Iron, GolfClub and Shovel can be seen and would go on to be put in the Blackhand and Don's Edition versions. We can also see earlier names for the health vial which was the healthpack and the film reel which was the movie canister.
Further in the PC version's executable files are mini-map marker/icon references.

Shockingly, TWO of them were cut before release! The City Traffic and Body Armor are the ones in question that were cut. According to earlier builds, there was supposed to be a traffic system and Aldo could purchase the armor from black market sellers or acquire it from dead enemies which gives him max health.

Unused Models#
There are many models in the npc model folder that are not seen anywhere in the game.
- The first one is the "snitch". According to earlier builds and internal EA assets, these were tied to the Contract Hit List system. Originally, Aldo was told by the Corleone family that the hit list targets are in hiding and had to look for snitches to interrogate them to find out the target's current location.
- The second one is the "car salesman". According to internal EA assets, Aldo at one point could buy cars.
- The third one is the "teacher". According to internal EA assets, there was a school planned for one of the neighborhoods.
- The fourth one is "herc" which means hero character. This was an older design of Aldo that can be seen in earlier trailers and gameplay footage from 2005.
