Unused Dialogue

This article has a talk page!
view on tcrf.net

This is a sub-page of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.

This page houses Skyrim's unused dialogue. The text is copied directly from the game when possible, so any spelling errors or missing words in the "Text" file are completely intentional and should not be altered. "Script Notes" and "Edits" tabs are NOT copied from the Creation Kit, just the text. Sometimes, when there is only an audio file and no in-game text available, subtitles will have been made from scratch and these might not be 100% punctuated like Bethesda might've envisioned. Things like these will always be stated beforehand.

Addvar Scenes#

Solitude's fishmonger Addvar was meant to talk to his customers as they're browsing his stall at Solitude's marketplace. However, his lines were mistakenly recorded in the FemaleShrill voicetype, presumably because they were incorrectly recorded for another Solitude marketplace vendor, Jala. Advvar's alias in these scenes actually gets filled by Jala, too. Due to this, these scenes can technically play, but they're used in a completely wrong context.

Addvar

I'm sorry about Roggvir. It's a shame, I liked him.

Illdi

Greta is taking it hardest. She won't go to the Temple of Divines anymore.

Speaker

Aia

Salmon sounds good today.

Roggvir

Speaking of sounding good, I've heard a couple of your classmates on the street recently.

Aia

As long as they're playing instruments they're passable. You don't want to hear them sing.

Speaker

Text

File

Ataf

I went out ice fishing a few days ago.

Addvar

Brave man, with the Blackbloods out there. Did you catch anything?

Ataf

Naw, mostly just froze.

Addvar

Well, keep at it. The fish have to get to know you before they're willing to bite.

Speaker

Text

File

Addvar

Jawanan, I don't see you here often.

Jawanan

I do not like fish.

Addvar

Okay. Well. That's all I've got.

Jawanan

I am buying a fish for Noster. He likes fish.

Addvar

A sale's a sale but I have to know... why are you buying something for Noster?

Jawanan

A war veteran should be respected.

Amren#

A third response from Amren to the question "You're not from Skyrim, are you?". This response was supposed to be used if the player is a Redguard, however, the condition checks if the player is a Nord instead. Because Nords already have a dedicated dialogue response, this one goes unused.

Speaker

Text

File

Player

You're not from Skyrim, are you?

Amren

Ha! And neither are you, eh? Good to see another Redguard. I like to think we bring a little heat to this frozen wasteland.

Anoriath#

These lines would've played when you met Anoriath while he was out hunting in Whiterun's plains. Since he never leaves Whiterun in the final game and the lines have an impossible condition attached, they go unused.

Speaker

Text

File

Anoriath

Oh! You startled me. I wasn't expecting company out here.

Anoriath

Shhh. You'll scare the deer.

Avulstein Gray-Mane#

This dialogue is conditioned to only play when talking to Avulstein while in Whiterun's exterior cell, something that's impossible in the final game.

Speaker

Text

File

Avulstein

Forget Solitude or Windhelm. Whiterun was the crown jewel of Skyrim before... Well, before... Never mind.

Avulstein

This was such a glorious city. But then everything had to change. The Empire came... and my brother was lost...

Avulstein

Ah, but Skyrim! Skyrim is supreme among all nations! Our people, our native people, are unmatched in all Tamriel!

Bassianus Axius#

Bassianus has a third greeting that can never play because of an impossible condition setting.

Speaker

Text

File

Bassianus

Is it absolutely necessary for you to bother me right now?

Balgruuf-Vignar Scene#

Jarl Balgruuf and Vignar Gray-Mane were supposed to have this tense sense together, but as the two men never meet prior to the civil war siege's conclusion, this scene can never play.

Speaker

Text

File

Balgruuf

I won't say it again, Vignar - Talos worship is forbidden. It's the Empire's law, and we're still a part of the Empire.

Vignar

A law made at the tip of an Aldmeri sword, aye. A sword stained red with Nord blood.

Vignar

Is this what our people fought and died for? To forsake our most beloved ancestor and divine?

Balgruuf

I'm no happier about this than you are, but I don't want the see the Thalmor rounding up people in the streets and throwing them in prison.

Vignar

Do your loyalties lie with the Thalmor, then?

Balgruuf

I warn you, Gray-Mane, you are treading on dangerous ground.

Vignar

Don't threaten me, boy. You're either a Nord who respects our traditions, or you're not.

Vignar

If not, it isn't me you'll have to answer to, but the people of this city and this hold.

Benkum#

An unused NPC who seems to have been in charge of the wagers at Windhelm's scrapped arena, the Pit. He appears to be honorable and not greedy in the slightest.

Speaker

Text

File

Benkum

Hello, hello, hello. Interested in fighting in the Pit? The rules are strict, but if I don't see it, it didn't happen, know what I mean?

Benkum

It's very important to Huki that all the battles are fair. What's more important to me is that my pay is fair.

Benkum

Prove your valor in the Pit! If you haven't got any valor, prove your pocketbook!

Brond#

An unused NPC who would've been a fighter in the Pit.

Speaker

Text

File

Brond

I've been a lot of things in my life. Pit fighter's the one I'm best at.

Brond

We should get a dragon for the Pit. I'd love to fight one.

Brond

I've been fighting in the Pit for years. That should tell you something.

Brond

There's two kinds of Pit fighters -- good ones and dead ones.

Brond

Ulfric once tried to get me to fight for him, but marching bores me.

Brond

Steel. Barehanded. Armor. Naked. It's all fighting. I can kill you with a weapon or by myself. No difference.

Captain Lonely-Gale#

Captain Lonely-Gale went through a major character change during development. While in the final game he's just a retired riverboat captain, he started out as the Stormcloak-aligned guard captain of Windhelm. He's still referred to as such in a scene between Belyn Hlaalu and his farmhand Adisla in the final game. After that, he was supposed to be Brunwulf Free-Winter's Steward in case of Imperial victory in the civil war, but for some reason Jorleif remains as Steward, meaning his new dialogue can also never be heard.

Steward Dialogue#

Speaker

Text

File

Player

Is the war really over?

Lonely-Gale

I wish I could say that it was, but it's not that simple.

Lonely-Gale

Many Stormcloaks will fight until they die, because they still believe they're fighting for Skyrim's freedom.

Lonely-Gale

But without Ulfric, the movement will wither and die. It's only a matter of time.

Player

Why did Brunwulf choose you to be Steward?

Lonely-Gale

Well, a few reasons come to mind.

Lonely-Gale

In my days as a riverboat captain, I was known to run a tight ship.

Lonely-Gale

That, and I made my fortune by knowing when to spend my septims, and when not to. I can't stand waste.

Player

Tell me about the city's history.

Lonely-Gale

Windhelm is one of the oldest human cities in all of Tamriel. In fact, it was the capital of the First Empire, which was founded by Ysgramor

Lonely-Gale

The Palace of the Kings in which you now stand is one of the last buildings that remain from that era.

Lonely-Gale

Long ago, the Empire used the city to garrison troops who guarded the passes to Morrowind.

Lonely-Gale

And now, thanks to you, the city is back under the Empire's banner.

Guard Captain Scenes#

As Windhelm's guard captain, Lonely-Gale would report to Jarl Ulfric Stormcloak himself. He would also have a scene play out with Ambarys Rendar when first entering Windhelm.

Entering Scene#

Speaker

Text

File

Lonely-Gale

If anything actually happens, call a guard.

Ambarys

If the guards in the Gray Quarter weren't a bunch of n'wahs, I wouldn't be here talking to you.

Lonely-Gale

My men have their orders. But it's a big city and there's a war on. Plus these murders.

Lonely-Gale

A few dark elves getting shoved around doesn't really amount to much.

Ambarys

Typical Nord. Beard for brains.

Lonely-Gale

Watch that tongue, Rendar, or your whole lot could be down with the Argonians hauling ballast by tomorrow.

Ulfric Scene 1#

Speaker

Text

File

Ulfric

Captain, I've been receiving complaints about this Giordano woman.

Lonely-Gale

Yes, sir. I've been trying to quiet her, but she's insistent. She thinks she can find out who's been killing the women...

Ulfric

I don't care if she can find a living dwarf -- I can't have her stirring up trouble. We have enough problems as it is.

Lonely-Gale

Yes, sir. I'll try to contain her.

Ulfric

See that you do. I will not let Windhelm descend into chaos over a few overactive imaginations.

Ulfric Scene 2#

Speaker

Text

File

Ulfric

What's the current spirit among the dark elves?

Lonely-Gale

As restless as ever, sir, but I don't see them taking any kind of incendiary action. Not soon, anyway.

Ulfric

Well that much is good. Let's finish this first war before starting the next one, eh?

Lonely-Gale

Um... yes, of course, sir.

Ulfric

Carry on, Lonely-Gale. And loosen yourself a bit.

Drahff and Hewnon Unused Scenario#

In the final game, Drahff and Hewnon Black-Skeever attack you after their initial scene plays out, however, you were originally supposed to be greeted by Drahff and a whole scenario would’ve played out with Drahff and Hewnon either attacking or standing down.

The Scenario#

Speaker

Text

File

Drahff

Hey, you. Stop right there!

Drahff

Empty your pockets or end up as skeever food.

Player

I'm just looking for the Ragged Flagon.

Drahff

Brynjolf's been sending idiots like you down here for years looking for their hideout.

Drahff

Funny thing is his stupid Thieves Guild never counted on me and my partner blocking the way.

Drahff

Now, empty your pockets or I'll pick the gold off your corpse.

Player

I've killed dozens like you. (Persuade)

Drahff

No need to get hasty. I... I was just testing you. You can go on ahead.

Drahff

Let 'em go, Hewnon. All clear.

Drahff

I doubt that very much.

Player

How much to let me pass?

Drahff

You aren't going to pass. You're going to give me everything you have. Whether you leave here in one piece is up to you.

Player

How about I kill you instead?

Drahff

Suit yourself. Get 'em Hewnon!

Drahff

Ignoring me, huh? Suit yourself. Get 'em Hewnon!

On Later Meetings#

If you had resolved the encounter above peacefully, then Drahff and Hewnon would have hung around at the entrance to The Ratway indefinitely. They would've also gained some new dialogue for this event.

Speaker

Text

File

Drahff

Don't worry, Hewnon will let you pass.

Drahff

We won't give you any more trouble.

Drahff

Sorry to have bothered you. I'll just be out of your way now.

Hewnon

What are you lookin' at?

Edorfin#

Another unused fighter for Windhelm's scrapped arena, the Pit. He only has a single remaining line of dialogue.

Speaker

Text

File

Edorfin

What I lack in strength, I make up for with tenacity.

Ennodius Papius#

Ennodius is a paranoid man living in the wilderness near Anga's Mill. He only gets enabled during his related Dark Brotherhood contract quest, meaning this dialogue can never play as it's overwritten by quest-related dialogue.

Speaker

Text

File

Ennodius

I used to work at Anga's Mill, but I... I had to leave.

Ennodius

Someone's after me I tell you. They're watching me. Somewhere.

Ennodius

Don't talk to me. You could be one of them.

Eyldi the Bear#

Eyldi the Bear was meant to be a character inhabiting the similarly-removed Bear's Cave Mill. She was meant to have been a local hero of great renown, and both she and the mill still get mentioned in the final game. As this dialogue only exists in the form of audio files, all subtitles have been made from scratch. Also, all these voice files refer to Half-Moon Mill, another mill in Falkreath hold, which presumably got mixed up by the developers, leading to this dialogue being kept in.

Speaker

Text

File

Eyldi

Come in, come in! Welcome to the Bear's Cave!

Eyldi

Company's a rare delight. Stay a spell.

Eyldi

I trust the roads are safe? I take good care of my land.

Eyldi

Do the bards still sing of my adventures?

Eyldi

Time was, the name Eyldi the Bear could make brigands flee for miles around.

Eyldi

The world has changed since I was young. Let there be new heroes. I’ve earned a rest.

Falkreath Scenes#

A majority of the townsfolk of Falkreath were meant to have scenes play out with one another, but a lot of these scenes never play as they require the NPCs to be in a location where they normally never meet.

Lod#

In the final game Lod is Falkreath's blacksmith, this wasn't always the case, however. Originally, Lod's character was that of a struggling farmer who lived at a farm called "Gentle Repose", he wasn't really liked by the other town residents and would be involved in some questionable activities to make some money. Lod is deliberately kept away from the inn in the final game, this is because if he would enter, some of his scenes would play out. These scenes don't match up with his new character description, but with his old one. Bethesda actually managed to correctly do this, meaning the scenes indeed go unused.

Scene 1#

Speaker

Text

File

Lod

Ah Tekla, you're a pretty little mouse.

Tekla

Leave me alone, Lod.

Lod

Alright, but if you ever want to leave that old curmudgeon I've got plenty for you to do at Gentle Repose.

Scene 2#

Speaker

Text

File

Bolund

Hey, Lod, how is the worst farmer in the hold doing?

Lod

The Gentle Repose is barren, it was barren the day my father claimed the land and it's barren now.

Bolund

Sure it is, Lod. Sure it is.

Scene 3#

Speaker

Text

File

Lod

Mathies. I wanted to say I'm sorry about what happened to your girl.

Mathies

That's kind of you, Lod.

Lod

How's the Corpselight treating you Mathies?

Mathies

You know how farming is here, long days and little to show for it.

Mathies#

Mathies and Indara Caerellia, his wife, were meant to speak to each other at their farm. However, for some reason, the required NPCs for this conversation are marked as Lod and Kust, and the dialogue is recorded in their voicetypes, making sure the scene can never play in the final game.

Scene 1#

Speaker

Text

File

Indara

The fields will need cutting soon.

Mathies

I suppose so. Seems like it was just turning summer yesterday.

Indara

And now winter is coming.

Runil#

Runil was supposed to speak with both Mathies and Indara Caerellia inside of the Hall of the Dead, but seeing as they never go there, these scenes go unused.

Scene 1#

Speaker

Text

File

Runil

Ah, Indara. Arkay's blessing upon you and your husband. Spend as much time here as you need.

Indara

Thank you, Runil. Your support means much to us.

Scene 2#

Speaker

Text

File

Mathies

The temple is the one place my wife finds peace these days, Runil.

Runil

It is a hard time for all of us. I hope that you too can find some sanctuary here, Mathies.

Thadgeir#

Thadgeir was supposed to visit Falkreath's graveyard and speak with both Kust and Runil, but since he never goes there in the final game, these scenes go unused.

Scene 1#

Speaker

Text

File

Runil

You visit us often, Thadgeir.

Thadgeir

Most of my friends are buried here.

Scene 2#

Speaker

Text

File

Thadgeir

There are a lot of good men buried here, Kust.

Kust

Men aren't good or bad. They're just men.

Zaria#

Like Lod, Zaria is deliberately kept away from the local inn. She would also have scenes play out that don't match her current job description. While she's an apothecary merchant in the final game, she would've worked at the local mill at one point and, according to the second scene with innkeeper Valga Vinicia, she would've also been a war veteran.

Scene 1#

Speaker

Text

File

Mathies

Do you ever get tired of long nights at the mill, Zaria?

Zaria

Do you ever get tired of the long days on the farm, Mathias?

Mathies

Yes, yes I do.

Scene 2#

Speaker

Text

File

Zaria

The way this war is going you'll soon have plenty of veterans like me to buy drinks.

Valga

The way this war is going there might not be anyone left to drink soon.

Grok#

Grok is the giant encountered during the quest "A Night To Remember", he was supposed to have a line of attack dialogue when you went to retrieve Gleda. The ability for giants to actually speak got removed, however, and seemingly all recorded lines with it, only the text survived.

Speaker

Text

Grok

You cannot eat Gleda! Gleda is protected by Grok!

Hemming Black-Briar Alternate Voice#

Hemming normally uses the MaleEvenTonedAccented voicetype, however, his lines for the scene with his mother about Sibbi are also recorded in the MaleSlyCynical voicetype. {Note: There were no subtitles for these lines, but as they are exactly the same as the finished ones I re-used those subtitles instead.}

Speaker

Text

File

Hemming

Sibbi? He's in prison... you put him there.

Hemming

Why do you tolerate him, mother? All he contributes to this family is embarrassment and disgrace.

Hemming

I understand, mother. Forgive me.

Hern#

Hern is a vampire living with his wife, Hert, at Half-Moon Mill. He only gets enabled during his related Dark Brotherhood contract quest, meaning this dialogue can never play as it's overwritten by quest-related dialogue... sound familiar?

Speaker

Text

File

Hern

Oh my, a guest!

Hern

Please, make yourself at home!

Hern

Lone travelers can find these woods a little treacherous.

Hern

We've been looking for someone to join us in a hunt.

Hollyfrost Farm Unused Scenes#

These scenes would've played when Hillevi Cruel-Sea visited Tulvur at Hollyfrost Farm, since she doesn't ever do this under normal circumstances, these scenes never play out.

Scene 1#

Speaker

Text

File

Hillevi

How have things been with you?

Tulvur

I got another harangue from Torsten yesterday.

Hillevi

Don't worry about him. I know you work hard, and I'm the one who gets you your money.

Tulvur

Thank you, miss, I appreciate that.

Scene 2#

It seems that in this scene the dialogue got reversed, as Tulvur is usually surrounded by the dogs all of the time, meaning he would know more about them than Hillevi who works in the city all the time.

Speaker

Text

File

Tulvur

And what about the dogs? How are those precious little angels?

Hillevi

Healthy and strong. Ysgramor's coat's gotten so thick, he looks fat!

Tulvur

Oh, that's just adorable.

Huki Seven-Swords#

Huki is another unused NPC associated with the Pit, Windhelm's unused arena. She would function as the jailkeeper in the Bloodworks (Barracks in the final game) and would get you started as a Pit fighter should you try and escape. She has remarkably more surviving dialogue than the other Pit NPCs who only have remaining greetings.

Speaker

Text

File

Huki

Looking for something?

Huki

Real Nords like to prove their mettle in the pit.

Huki

Just between you and me, I wouldn't mind if the Empire just up and left for good.

Huki

I'd love get one of those Imperial weasels under my boot...

Kraldar#

This line is one of the last leftovers of the time when Kraldar was the original Jarl of Winterhold. All of his other dialogue got correctly re-used by Korir, with the exception of this line about the Helm of Winterhold.

Speaker

Text

File

Kraldar

Come back as soon as you have the helm.

Liesl#

Another NPC who would've been a fighter in Windhelm's scrapped arena, The Pit.

Speaker

Text

File

Liesl

Stand away from me, or I'll crack you like an egg.

Liesl

What are you looking at? Scared of strong women?

Liesl

You look mighty tasty. Better not stick around for supper.

Mithorpa Nasyal#

An unused Dunmer farmer who would've lived at Barleydark Farm, a cut location in Whiterun Hold. For some reason he possesses two versions of his dialogue, each with slightly different subtitles. The first three lines seem to be early versions of the last three.

Speaker

Text

File

Mithorpa

Come to gawk at the dark elf?

Mithorpa

Well look at us. Like two gray specks in the snow.

Mithorpa

I mean no offense. I am but a humble farmer, not a great wanderer, like you.

Mithorpa

Come to gawk at the Dark Elf?

Mithorpa

Well look at us. Like two gray specks in the snow.

Mithorpa

I mean no offense. I am but a humble farmer. Not a... a great wanderer, like you.

New Gnisis Cornerclub Unused Scenes#

There are 2 unused scenes where Argonian dockworker Scouts-Many-Marshes speaks to cornerclub owner Ambarys Rendar, he never goes near the cornerclub, or even inside the city walls for that matter, in the final game.

Scene 1#

Speaker

Text

File

Marshes

Why do the Nords bother you so much, Ambarys?

Ambarys

Why do you even need to ask? They treat your people as bad as they do mine.

Marshes

I think that's just their way. The Nords don't like anybody who's not a Nord, but they're not bad people, deep down.

Ambarys

Look around you. Don't you know what their little war is about? They want all non-Nords out of Skyrim. That means you and me.

Marshes

Oh, I doubt that very much. Who would load their ships, then?

Ambarys

Just you wait and see.

Scene 2#

Speaker

Text

File

Ambarys

How much do they pay you per day?

Marshes

That's really none of your business...

Ambarys

How much?

Marshes

Eight septims per day, plus lodging.

Ambarys

Eight septims for breaking your back, and then you live in squalor. How much is your dignity worth?

Marshes

If it's all the same to you, Scouts-Many-Marshes prefers to eat and drink in peace.

Ambarys

Sorry, my scaly friend, you've come to the wrong place. Around here we don't ignore what's happening in the world.

Nura Snow-Shod#

If the Imperials take over Riften during the civil war, the worship of Talos will get outlawed. Nura, the local priestess of Talos, will no longer leave her house as a result. You were supposed to be able to ask her what happened to the Talos shrine but since her trespassing lines override all her unique dialogue, these lines go unheard.

Speaker

Text

File

Player

What happened to the shrine of Talos?

Nura

Now that the Imperial blight has poisoned Riften, the worship of Talos is strictly forbidden by the terms of the White-Gold Concordat.

Nura

They can defile our shrine, they can arrest our people and they can silence our voices, but the Empire will never destroy our spirit.

Nura

As long as we keep Talos in our heart, his legacy will never die.

Salma Alternate Voice#

Salma, one of the two adventurers located outside Ironbind Barrow, uses 25 lines of unique dialogue in the final game. These are all recorded in the FemaleYoungEager voicetype, 19 of these lines are also recorded in the FemaleCommander voicetype, suggesting Salma originally used this voicetype. The lines "Beem! What are you doing? Stop it!", "Come on, Beem-Ja. We're going.", "Hey now, don't take all the good stuff!", "Oh, Beem..." and "Father never trusted Beem. I always thought he was just being overprotective." are the only ones that aren't recorded in this voicetype. {Note: There were no subtitles for these lines, but as they are almost exactly the same as the finished ones I re-used those subtitles instead. I only changed line 9's "Beem" to "Beem-Ja" as this voice says Beem-Ja instead of Beem like in the final, this is also the only difference.}

Speaker

Text

File

Salma

Let's clear the place out first. Then we'll gather our loot.

Salma

Eyes open. Danger could be anywhere.

Salma

This place is sure to make us rich!

Salma

Gold, silver. Gems, maybe? Only one way to find out!

Salma

Go on without me. I think I need to be alone for a while.

Salma

We should be inside, loading up on treasure. Worry-scales here thinks we should wait, though. Don't get any ideas, either. We were here first.

Salma

Not without us, you aren't! I'm sure there's enough for everyone, after all.

Salma

Look, I never needed treasure. My father owns land; our family is wealthy. I just wanted adventure. Not this.

Salma

I don't care what Beem-Ja says. It's high time we get in there and find our fortune.

Salma

I don't know. Beem-Ja has looked after me since I was knee-high to him. I need to rest, and then I think I'm going back to High Rock.

Salma

That's done it! Let's get in there.

Salma

You can't shake us off that easily. Let's see what's here!

Salma

Treasure, that's what! Get off your scaly rump and let's go.

Salma

How can you just sit here and wait? We should be in there!

Salma

Would you look at that!

Salma

What are you on about? Let's just get the treasure here and go.

Salma

Beem! What are you doing?

Salma

Oh, Beem-Ja. I never meant for this. What have I done?

Salma

Beem-Ja!

Shahvee Unused Scene#

There is unused dialogue in the game's files related to an unused scene in Windhelm. Because it isn't set up in the Creation Kit, the subtitles have been made from scratch, and it isn't exactly known who was to be involved in this scene. One speaker uses the FemaleArgonian voice type and has a cheery personality, which almost certainly points to the Argonian dockworker Shahvee, as she is the only person in Windhelm with said voice type. Her conversation partner uses the MaleEvenToned voice type, so he would've either been Aval Atheron or Ulundil, with the former being more likely. The presence of this dialogue seems to reinforce the idea that the Argonian dockworkers were once allowed to enter the city, and visited the New Gnisis Cornerclub. This is where Aval still dines in the final game.

Speaker

Text

File

Aval

I hear the work is hard, down at the docks.

Shahvee

Argonians aren't built for the cold, but this one doesn't mind too much.

Aval

Isn't the ice dangerous?

Shahvee

Slippery? Yes. Dangerous? No. There are advantages to having tails.

Shor's Stone Grelka Scenes#

At one point in development, Grelka (Riften's armor merchant) was to be Shor's Stone's female miner. While her role got given to Sylgja and her dialogue got re-recorded in Sylgja's voicetype, the scenes she was involved in remained unaltered, meaning they can never play as they require Grelka to be at Shor's Stone.

Scene 1#

Speaker

Text

File

Filnjar

How are your parents faring, Grelka? Doing better than we are I would guess.

Grelka

It's no feast in their neck of the woods either. Last time I was up there, father said they were barely scraping by.

Filnjar

This civil war is taking its toll on all of us. Miners are some of the hardest hit.

Grelka

That's what scares me. I'm afraid I'll travel to Darkwater Crossing and find it burned to the ground.

Scene 2#

Speaker

Text

File

Odfel

Grelka, do you fancy a walk tomorrow?

Grelka

Odfel, I've told you time and time again. I'm not interested in a relationship with you.

Odfel

And why not? I'm handsome, strong and smart. What else could you possibly need?

Grelka

I need someone that cares about me more than they care about themselves. That person isn't you.

Scene 3#

Speaker

Text

File

Grogmar

I've been watching the way you mine and I have to say, I'm very impressed.

Grelka

I owe it all to my father who started me swinging the pickaxe when I was a barefoot little girl.

Grogmar

Well, it shows. Your skill rivals some of the greatest miners I've known.

Grelka

Thank you. It's nice to know someone admires me for more than just my appearance.

Sibbi Black-Briar#

Sibbi has responses to both Snilf's and Edda's attempt at begging, but these can never be heard as he is always located in jail. The first line is his response to Snilf and the second to Edda.

Speaker

Text

File

Sibbi

If you want to awaken from your next slumber, I suggest you leave me be.

Sibbi

I've told you before, and I'll tell you again. Leave me alone.

Soljund's Sinkhole Unused Scenes#

The quest of the same name started at Soljund's Sinkhole has a couple of different bugs, resulting in some of Perth, the quest giver's, dialogue going unused. After starting the quest, Perth was supposed to return to the Miner's House and have two pre-quest scenes with co-worker Tuthul, but seeing as his ai packages for after the player accepts the quest prevent him from entering it, the scene can never play.

Scene 1#

Tuthul

Those draugr are going to come up and kill us all.

Perth

They haven't moved out of the caves. I think we're safe.

Tuthul

"We're safe" he says. You'll eat those words when a draugr is tearing into your face.

Scene 2#

Perth

The guards say no draugr have come out of the mine.

Tuthul

That's comforting. Glad they're keeping watch instead of getting rid of the draugr.

Steirod#

Steirod is an unused NPC and brother to the similarly unused Trilf. The brothers would've lived together at Irontree Mill, a scrapped mill that would've been located in Haafingar.

Steirod

We got everything in hand here. You aren't needed 'round here.

Steirod

We chop trees, we mill the wood. What more would you want to know?

Steirod

It's a hard way to make a living, but we find ways to make ends meet.

Steirod

We don't take kindly to people snooping around our business.

Steirod

These axes can chop a lot more than wood, you know.

Stenvar#

Stenvar should be rehirable for free in a window of 24 hours after dismissing him, similar to other hirelings. However, due to broken conditions on his dialogue, the rehire-lines go unused. Also note how the second subtitle doesn't match up with the spoken dialogue.

Stenvar

I'm bored. What do you say we go smash a few heads in? This one's on me.

Player

Very well, let's go. (0 gold)

Stenvar

Good, I can use the exercise. Haha!

Stonehills Unused Scene#

This scene would have played between Gestur Rockbreaker and his Redguard son Talib, since Talib doesn't appear in the final game, this scene goes unused.

Speaker

Gestur

How goes it, son?

Talib

I'm fine, father. Work is fine.

Gestur

Good, good. It's honest work, son. No shame in that.

Talib

Of course not. I never thought otherwise.

Gestur

Right. Well, you let me know if you need anything.

Sulvar the Steady#

Sulvar would've been an elderly resident of Windhelm who would've appeared inside "The Wheelhouse", a location not included in the final game.

Speaker

Text

File

Sulvar

My job? Well, I'm the Watcher of the Wheel! Which is... exactly what it sounds like. I watch the Wheel.

Sulvar

Watching the wheel isn't as simple as you might think. Have to inspect all the way around the ice, make sure it's not melting.

Sulvar

Don't get too many folks up here these days. Sometimes I think they've forgotten about me.

Terek#

Terek is an unused NPC who would've taken up residence inside Breezehome.

Speaker

Text

Terek

You're in my home. That's right. This here place, Breezehome, it belongs to old Terek.

Terek

Oho! And what do you want, hmm?

Terek

You can't kick me out of here. You want me gone, you're gonna have to kill me.

Terek

Now I don't care about no deeds, or laws, or other nonsense like that. This house was empty, so I settled in. And now it's mine.

Terek

I'm a generous man, to those who treat me right. Might be I'll even let you live here with me, if you mind your manners.

Terek

Don't let the door slam into your backside on the way out.

Terek

Now if ya don't mind, my house could do with a bit of dusting.

Thonar Silver-Blood#

Thonar has an unused line to use when he is inside the Silver-Blood Inn, since he never goes there in the final game, the line goes unheard.

Thonar

My family owns this inn, but I've put Kleppr in charge. Right rat for the right job, I say.

Trilf#

Trilf is an unused NPC and brother to the similarly unused Steirod. The brothers would've lived together at Irontree Mill, a scrapped mill that would've been located in Haafingar. Trilf is the nice one of the pair.

Speaker

Text

Trilf

Hey, welcome to the mill!

Trilf

My brother and me bought this place when we left the army. Boy, did we lose a bundle, but at least we're not fighting the war!

Trilf

We're making our money back, bit by bit. Every extra bit of work helps...

Trilf

We served our time in the Legion. Now we're just trying to make it day to day.

Vilod#

Vilod is the innkeeper of an inn located in Helgen, the first town you enter. Like every other innkeeper, you could've asked him about magic, but because Helgen gets destroyed and Vilod cannot be interacted with at this time, this dialogue goes unheard.

Speaker

Text

Player

Where can I learn more about magic?

Vilod

That'd be the College in Winterhold. I suppose you'll be headed there, then. Well, don't let me get in your way.

Windhelm House Purchase Line#

Before finishing the quest Blood on the Ice, you cannot purchase a house in Windhelm. Jorleif, the steward, will tell you "There is an empty home in the city, but there was some... unpleasantness recently. I'm afraid it's not available just yet." This line is for some reason recorded in 9 other voicetypes as well, but goes unused, obviously.

Yngvar Unused Scene#

Yngvar the Singer, an enforcer for Markarth's Silver-Blood family, has an unused scene with Kleppr, the innkeeper of the Silver-Blood Inn. Yngvar can be found drunk outside the inn but he never actually enters the building, making the scene go unused.

Speaker

Kleppr

Ah, Yngvar, here to sing? You know an employee of the Silver-Blood family is always a guest of honor here.

Yngvar

Shut it, Kleppr. Thongvor isn't here, so save your kissing up for a Nord who cares.

Kleppr

Always such a model for decency in these troubled times, Yngvar.
