This is a sub-page of SpongeBob SquarePants: Creature from the Krusty Krab (PlayStation 2, GameCube, Wii).
Like with the previous sixth-generation SpongeBob games, Creature from the Krusty Krab has a large number of differences between versions. Most of these have to do with the different control schemes, as well as hardware limitations and the rather rushed nature of the game's development.

General Differences#
- In the PS2/Wii versions, the bubbles used for options on the main menu have a distortion effect that is missing in the GameCube version.

- Texture quality varies between all versions. The PlayStation 2 has the best textures, while the Wii version has some noticeable compression artifacts. Due to space and memory limitations, the GameCube version uses considerably lower quality textures than other versions, even on stuff such as the HUD elements, which also creates a number of errors due to improper compression (such as Gary having blue eyes, SpongeBob's tongue appearing mostly white, and Speed Demon SpongeBob's tie having a silver "gradient"). A few textures were also changed in the PlayStation 2 version, such the large exhausts in "Diesel Dreaming".
- The GameCube version has noticeably downgraded lighting effects, with bloom being effectively removed and everything appearing darker as a result. The PlayStation 2 and Wii versions are almost identical, although the PlayStation 2 is a bit brighter (this is most apparent in the level "Starfishman to the Rescue").
- The attract video that plays if you wait on the main menu lasts for 1 minute and 23 seconds on Wii and PS2, while on GCN it's reduced to a mere 27 seconds.
- The Nick Games logo FMV is slightly shorter on Wii/GC than it is on PS2, and the audio cuts off early.
- The lighting in the intro cutscene for "Revenge of the Giant Plankton Monster" looks different depending on the version: the GameCube version has poor lighting and Plankton looks oddly shiny, the Wii version adds a weird blue-ish filter on the screen and is otherwise about the same as the GameCube version, & the PlayStation 2 version has brighter lighting and overall looks more natural.
- The GameCube version removed an effect in "Alaskan Belly Trouble" where the level would wave around to simulate the movement of a stomach.
- The Wii version added a minigame called SpongeBand. In this game mode, you can play a wide variety of instruments with SpongeBob, Patrick, and Plankton (for example, one "band" arrangement could have SpongeBob playing the guitar and harmonica, Patrick playing the drums and a slide whistle, and Plankton playing the synthesizer).
- The Wii version skips the start-up animation for the dash move, causing the characters to instantly start running when it's activated.
- Some of the attack animations for Plankton during "Revenge of the Giant Plankton Monster" are different in the Wii version.
- When Plankton takes damage in "Revenge of the Giant Plankton Monster", the Wii version gives him a glowing red outline for a few seconds, whereas the GameCube and PS2 versions have Plankton himself glow orange.
- The Wii version has info screens at the start of the second and third sections of "Rocket Rodeo" explaining that you now have the ability to shoot lasers and how to defeat the Patty UFO boss, respectively. These info screens aren't present in the other versions.
- The Wii version has a more detailed character model for SpongeBob with slightly more pushed-in holes. Oddly, this model is only used during the platforming sections of "Diesel Dreaming" and "Alaskan Belly Trouble", with the other levels all using the same character model as the PS2 and GameCube versions.
- The racing vehicles in the Wii version run slightly faster compared to the PlayStation 2 and GameCube versions, most likely in an attempt to make the races easier to compensate for the motion controls.
- The flying sections in the Wii version have some small changes that make the levels easier than the other versions, likely to help compensate for the motion controls. These changes include the fuel meter depleting slower than it does in the other versions and an aiming reticle being added in front of the characters to make shooting easier.
- In the Wii version of "Rocket Rodeo", shaking the Wii Remote really hard will make Patrick perform a series of animations on top of the rocket, and every time he does this the rocket's flames change color in a certain order (starting at orange, then blue, then green, then purple, then turquoise, and finally back to orange). This was completely removed on the PlayStation 2 and GameCube versions.
- Also in the Wii version of "Rocket Rodeo", the space hole that Patrick rides through also changes color based on your position on the screen. Staying in the dead-center makes it purple, going to the top makes it blue, going to the left makes it green, going to the bottom makes it yellow, and going to the right makes it red. Additionally, these colors mix if you're in a corner of the screen (for example, the bottom-right corner mixes the yellow and red into orange). This was was also completely removed on PlayStation 2 and GameCube versions.
- In the PlayStation 2 and GameCube versions of "It Came from Bikini Bottom", you can press certain buttons on the controller to activate the plane's front lights and a horn with a few comedic sound effects. These were removed in the Wii version.
- On the GameCube and Wii versions, the ending cutscene of "It Came from Bikini Bottom" has the background sprite layer (which shows various buildings in the distance) glitch out, resulting in it becoming elongated and blurred. This is fixed on the PlayStation 2.
- The music in the PlayStation 2 version has a high quality sample rate of 44100 Hz, while the GameCube and Wii versions have them in a lower quality 32000 Hz. Also, certain tracks that have four audio channels on the PS2 version (like "It Came from Bikini Bottom" and "Hypnotic Highway") were downmixed to stereo on GCN and Wii - and since the PS2 version used two of the channels for background noise and the other two channels for the music itself, the GCN and Wii versions were forced to have the background noise be permanently mixed with the music.
- The PlayStation 2 version has a bug where every other use of the dash move has the characters skip their start-up and sprinting animations and instantly start running while still in their walking animation.
- In the Wii version, the loading screen for the second time you play the "Wakey Wakey Shakey Shakey" minigame at the end of "Revenge of the Giant Plankton Monster" has its own unique title card without narration, while the PlayStation 2 and GameCube versions just reuse the same title card and narration from when you first play the minigame at the start of the level.
GameCube Bugs/Oddities#
Despite being dated after the NTSC-U PlayStation 2 version, the GameCube version appears to be based on an earlier, unfinished build. This is due to it having far more bugs than the other versions, along with there being certain assets that are outright missing from it:
- The North American GCN version of the game uses an earlier version of the post-credits cutscene with missing lip-sync animations and broken facial expressions on SpongeBob. Additionally, the cutscene's corresponding sound file (s_i10) is nowhere to be found within the game's files, causing the cutscene to be completely silent when it plays in-game. Notably, the European GameCube release actually fixed both of these issues.
- The files also lack the sound file for the music played in the minigame "Scrap Scramble", causing it to only have audio for the voices and sound effects.
- An animation bug causes a fish in "It Came from Bikini Bottom" to shift in the opposite direction of the newspaper he holds (the fish shifts up, while the newspaper shifts down).
- The audio for the intro cutscene of "It Came from Bikini Bottom" on GameCube is a bit different from the other versions; this is most noticeable with the timing of SpongeBob's laugh.

- The first section of "Rooftop Rumble" doesn't have animations for Plankton's mouth .
- Plankton's animations in the intro cutscene for "Hypnotic Highway" are in a very rough state - his eye doesn't blink properly, and his arms are the only part of him that actually moves.
- There's a text file present called fet_gcp.txt. While this is blank in the U.S. version, in the European version the file has the following text:
mini-WWSS World 6-7 InGame.fetm
- Another file present in the GameCube version is called fetlist.txt, which has the following text in all versions:
Full Frontend Levels World_fet.gcp
- The GameCube game has debug symbols, which can be viewed here.
