Quest: Fantasy Challenge is basically a Mr. Doǃ clone with boss battles and a Quest 64 skin.

Unused Graphics#
QUEST Alphamonsters#
As if this game wasn't already enough of a Mr. Do! clone, unused graphics make it apparent that the developers originally planned to carry over that game's "EXTRA" mechanic. The graphics contain tiles for both a "QUEST" status bar and the Alphamonsters that would populate it.
In some emulators such as mGBA and Mednafen, this status bar appears on screen for a single frame while the first stage is being rendered, but only in the US version of the game:
Interestingly, the screenshots on the back of the box, which appear to have been taken from a pre-release version or mockup that included this mechanic, have the same status bar layout and design as in the screenshot above.
Mr. Do! tiles#
Making the inspiration even more obvious, the graphics data also contains a set of tiles for a cherry, Badguy, diamond, and EXTRA Alphamonsters from the original Mr. Do!.
French and German text#
The score screen displayed after every second boss fight has two sets of tiles associated with it, one which is loaded in monochrome Game Boy mode and one of which is loaded in Game Boy Color mode, due to the differences in palette. In the US version of the game, which only offers English as an option, both of these tile banks also include French and German translations of some of the labels (and, in the case of German, different translations between the two versions!). The layout of these graphics also differs; the monochrome version includes unique tiles to translate "scene" (scène, Szene), while the color version includes the tiles needed to spell out translated versions of the "VERY NICE!" and "TOTAL" messages.
The layout mismatch between these two graphics banks is what causes this screen to display gibberish text on a Game Boy Color, as discussed on this game's Bugs page. The European version of the game uses the latter layout for both the monochrome and color versions of the tile data, and updates the tile map for this screen to match (including the appropriate adjustments when playing in French or German), thus fixing the bug.
Unused Super Game Boy Palette#
Game Genie code 092-21F-D5A will load the unused palette instead of the border, so loading the border first, then turning the code on will display both the unused palette and the border. This same code also loads the unused palette in Wetrix GB, so this is likely a sample palette used in the Super Game Boy SDK dev-kit.
