Predator: Concrete Jungle is an interesting case of a game that shifted from being an ambitious open-world title to more of a linear experience mid-development. The results are a bit clunky to say the least.

This string is used in an anti-piracy check done at startup, in which it is hashed and compared to a known good hash value. If the resulting hash of the string differs, a flag at 0x00482714 is set to indicate a tampered/pirated copy.
This anti-piracy check and its effects were seemingly never completed, as only the player class' update function reads this flag. When it is set, the update function decrements a timer, but nothing happens when the timer elapses.
