The sequel to the first game, based off the 2007 Disney Channel cartoon of the same name, released somewhat late in the console's lifespan. It is notable for solving many problems the first game had: ditching the complicated inventory mechanic, toning down the Touch Screen gameplay, and adding more variety to the rides. Also, more Perry the Platypus action stages.

Unused Graphics#

And when I do, you're gonna be BUSTED!

A leftover from the first game: a trace of Candace (from the season 1 episode "I Scream, You Scream") which would've appeared on the bottom screen once Phineas and Ferb took too much damage (be it from falling or touching various hazards). A different trace of Candace was used in this game, appearing to be based on her appearance from the original show's theme song.

Unused Animations#

Candace#

Candace (from the top screen) has four unused animations in total - the first two are leftover from Phineas and Ferb.

Hidden Objects#

These can only be seen by performing a glitch where you position Ferb diagonally in a corner and activate his drill.

Balloons#

Near the entrance to the first cave in 2-1, there are 3 red balloons hidden behind the main entrance, just like the ones you see when you exit said cave. The only difference is that they lead nowhere and there are no rocket signs, plus they are never seen by normal means. Phineas_and_Ferb_Ride_Again_Balloons.png

DGamer Comments#

The DGamer XML file contains the following comments:

DGamer DS dynamic configuration, for Club Penguin DS

Likely refers to Club Penguin: Elite Penguin Force. Interestingly, this game was not created by Altron, but by 1st Playable Productions, which indicates overlap or shared information in their development. Notably, many other comments and details from this game's XML file are present in that game's as well.

Default items are like game unlockables, but backend only, so category DGamer. I'm carving out slots for them in the DGamer_Data array to avoid confusion, but they don't actually need them.
DGamer specific unlockables, note that these shouldn't be fired if id (e.g. 117358) already exists in the backpack

We can find elsewhere in the XML that 117358 refers to the "starter set", which includes several items that can are unlocked from the start.

Regional Differences#

Careful, you'll lose an eye.

There's a whole lotta words here, but not enough pictures. Please fix this.
Specifically: Upload all the different title screens from the bundle.

In 2011, an alternate version of Ride Again (as well as the first game) was released exclusively in Europe as a single cartridge. The main differences between them are the title screens, which removes the DGamer option (a now-defunct online service made by Disney Interactive Studios that was only available in North America), replacing it with a Language option, allowing the game to be played in Dutch, German, Spanish, and Italian (which changes the game's text and voices, (albeit voices apparently somewhat different from the official dubs). Unique to ‘’Ride Again’’ itself is a Language menu that appears before the game starts proper, which can be changed at any time.

For unknown reasons, the Italian title screen lacks the "Ride Again" subtitle that every other language has a translation for, reading just "Phineas and Ferb", untranslated. The first game's Italian title screen correctly translates the title (Phineas e Ferb), however.

Due to an oversight, when the game is played in any other language than English, if the player goes into the Options menu and tries to listen to the voices (sound effects 202-208), they will always be set to English regardless; only in gameplay itself do the voices correspond to the language selected beforehand.
