Monopoly Deluxe (DOS)

Monopoly Deluxe is a competent conversion of the classic friendship-destroying board game. Notably, its title theme would later be re-used as the "Parade Tune" in Cool Spot, also developed by Virgin Games.

Hidden Developer Credit#

When the game has just started, in the top-right corner of the screen the letters "JMA" (standing for Juan M. Alvarado, the game's programmer) are barely visible in white on a blue background.

Easter Egg#

MP.exe contains this weird message at 0x3AD46 in v1.0 and 0x378B6 in v1.5:

Official Easter Egg

What? The project is over? I can come out now?
Click Ok to release the programmer.
I'm Free!
Thank you for releasing me. I will now grant you three wishes. Just kidding. I think I'll hang out in the parking lot if you don't mind.

To activate this Official Easter Egg, click on the white letters JMA that show up in the upper right-hand corner when the game has just started, then set the Free Parking Ante to $865. It will show the face of Juan M. Alvarado, and put it in the Free Parking spot on the game board.
