Lost Vikings 2 is the sequel to Blizzard's breakout hit in the original The Lost Vikings. Originally finished two years before its release, it came out contemporaneously with its next-gen equivalent, making it the eleventh-last SNES game to be released in North America and the tenth-last in Europe.
Two new characters! Thirty-one new levels! Zero voice acting, zero pre-rendered sprites, and (most tragically of all) zero sequel!
Cheat Mode#
In the first level, kill Erik. This can be done by placing Olaf next to the witch at the end and raising his shield. Have Erik stand on it, then double jump up and to the left. Position Erik so he lands on the ground that's lower than where Olaf is, and when he lands, he'll get hurt. Repeat this two more times and Erik will be killed, after which the message above will appear.
Now all five characters will each have a special ability, and levels can be skipped by pressing A + B + X + Y.
Furthermore, on Level 22 (Password HRDR), reach the room with Tommy the kid with Scorch, after the first dialogue interaction, talk to him 19 times, you will hear the same sound effect as when you unlock the first Cheat Mode.
Now the characters will have their abilities expanded.
The Cheat Mode is kept even after a soft reset.
Unused Graphics#
The game contains placeholder tilesets text from 1 to C, which are never seen in-game. These are placeholders for when the game has to load animated water tilesets, but the level doesn't have any water on it.
