Jeopardy! (NES)

Unused Graphics#

A small Coca-Cola logo is present in the ROM at offset F08B (Revision 0)/F18B (Revision 1). It would appear that during the game's development, Coca-Cola wanted to advertise its ownership of Merv Griffin Enterprises (the company that created and produced Jeopardy!), but the sale of MGE to Columbia Pictures Entertainment in 1988 scuttled the idea.

Likely due to sharing many other assets, Junior Edition contains the logo at offset F434. In 25th Anniversary Edition, which also shares many assets, only five tiles of the logo remain at offset ECF3.

A similar instance of the Coca-Cola logo is present (and also unused) in the NES Wheel of Fortune.

Revisional Differences#

To do:
It looks like there's a lot of these changes between Revision 0 and Revision 1. How much is actually noticeable, and how much is behind-the-scenes cleanup?

Revision 1

A "TM" symbol was added to the Jeopardy! logo on the splash screen...
