Units#

Shadow Ramunade#

There was a Shadow Ramunade unit when Gacha Club was first released, but he was replaced by Meguna in July 2020 for unknown reasons.

Hasei#

Hasei was meant to be a dark unit, but she got removed before the game's release for unknown reasons.

CakuPop's Scrapped Units#

At some point in development, CakuPop replaced four of her old units and updated one of them. The reason behind this is unknown.

Missing Characters#

There are some missing characters in the Gacha Club website, such as Shadow Ryan and Manami, Corrupted Bella, and Corrupted Evylln.

Clubs#

Club Rivals#

Club Rivals was a scrapped feature that was first announced in the game's official Discord. It was supposed to have something to do with the battle mode, but not only was the idea scrapped, the message announcing it was also deleted, thus making it a lost media.

The Club Rivals that were supposed to be in game were:

  • Club Vinyl vs Club X
  • Club Knight vs Club Magic
  • Club Dragon vs Club Legend
  • Club Duck vs Club Whale
  • Club Gamer vs Club Glitch
  • Club All-Star vs Club UwU
  • Club Neko vs Club Fluffy
  • Club Cyan vs Club Rose
  • Club Lore vs Club Miyako
  • Club Potato vs Club Schmelly
  • Club Bubble Tea vs Club Candy
  • Club Phantom vs Club Danger
  • Club Bamboo vs Club Cosplay
  • Club Rainbow vs Club Dream
  • Club Rhythm vs Club Kawaii

Artwork#

Manami Lin's Art#

This was an early version of Manami Lin's art. However, it still appears in the Usagi vs. Neko minigame.

Bex's Art#

Bex had two unused art, one for her normal version and one for a corrupted version of the character.

Emiko's Scrapped Art#

Emiko originally was intended to have the image below as her battle card illustration. This art can still be found by going to the "Follow the artists!" section via "Gacha Club News".

Corrupted Emiko also had an unused version of her, but was possibly scrapped because of explicit blood appearing in her art.

Game Features#

(NOTE: Some images are unfortunately in low quality, they need to be replaced with high-quality replacements.)

Music Battle#

There was going to be a planned "Music Battle" mini-game at the time when the game was still in development, where the gameplay would play similarly to your typical rhythm game experience. This was however later removed for unknown reasons.

Interestingly, Music Battle's select screen shows a "World" functionality for Gacha Club, however there are no mentions from Lunime on how the button or menu would work. It may have been cut late in development and was an possible attempt to bring back the chat feature from Luni's previous installment, Gacha Life, which was removed due to toxicity and problematic behavior. The screenshot also shows "Shop" button which could've have been used for purchasing Diamonds and Stars, there's also a profile artwork of Luni licking a lollipop, which isn't in the game.

Phone#

Screenshot of Gacha Club's Phone. Screenshot after typing a code by pressing a secret button.

Phone, or rather Gacha Club Phone, was a very short lived feature of Gacha Club which survived only to v1.0.2. The Phone feature allowed users to obtain "special items" which can be used in Units, Gacha, Battle and Mini Games sections that are available only for mobile versions of the game by entering a code in the phone. To obtain one of the secret codes is by touching "Phone Results" text which generates a code that user can enter, they can't be reused for obvious reasons.

However, as mentioned before, the feature survived to v1.0.2. While the official statement about the removal of Phone was never revealed, it could be possible that the feature was replaced by secrets that rewarded player for finding them.

Unused Body Pillow Prop#

To do:

  • Find in SWF file if the prop still exists.

In one of the leaks during the game's development, there was an appearing prop in a form of a body pillow with DJ Leak's character in it. This however, also didn't make it into the final product to the game, possibly to avoid usage for any possible suggestive content considering that Luni's games are targeted towards a younger audience.
Maybe it's actually good that it didn't make to final cut…?

Beta Tutorial Screen#

Careful, you'll lose an eye.

This page or section needs more images.
There's a whole lotta words here, but not enough pictures. Please fix this.

Near Gacha Club's launch day, Lunime posted on Twitter Gacha Club's beta tutorial which was supposed to feature diverse characters and more slides for each mode instead of just Bella and Usalina explaining everything in one slide for each mode though Bella and Usalina were featured in the beta tutorial.

The characters were:

  • Customize - Bella,
  • Studio - Luni,
  • Gacha - Lado,
  • Units - Lemo and Yuni,
  • Battles - Rein,
  • Mini Games - Unknown.

Debug Menu#

To do:

  • Take a screenshot of the debug menu.

A debug menu (internally named openncheatz_11334) remains in the game's files. It was used by the developers to quickly manipulate save data, skip stages, and max out characters for testing purposes.

Since the ActionScript and the corresponding MovieClip are still present, the menu can be forced to appear on-screen by adding the following code to an active UI element:

MovieClip(root).addChild(new openncheatz_11334());

Features#

The menu consists of various clickable buttons that directly modify the variables in MainTimeline:

  • Currency/Items: Buttons to add or subtract Gems, Gold, Gacha Tickets, and Bite-Coins.
  • Mass Leveling: Grants XP, Limit Breaks, Skill Levels, and Pet Levels to every unit in the game at once via for loops. For example, clicking the pet button adds 5 levels to all 150 pets simultaneously.
  • Stage Warping: Skips forward or backward in Story Mode, Tower, and Training modes. It includes hardcoded checks to ensure the correct boss loads depending on the selected floor.
  • Boss Reset: A button (resetbossbtx) that clears the completion flags for major bosses so they can be re-fought.

Account Presets#

At the bottom of the script are eight functions (accountbt1x through accountbt8x) that act as debug save states. Clicking one overwrites the current save with a specific progression milestone:

  • Account 1: Acts as a fresh save. Sets all stages to 1, resets Unit XP and Pet levels to 0, and gives 200 Gems and 25,000 Gold.
  • Account 4: A mid-game state. Jumps to Story Stage 28 and Tower Stage 11, sets all units to Limit Break 5, and gives 1,500 Gems and 500,000 Gold.
  • Account 8: A 100% completion state. Unlocks Story Stage 50, maxes out all character Limit Breaks (20) and Pet levels (100), and gives 5,000 Gems, 5,000,000 Gold, and 9,999 of every material.

Internal Variable Names#

The debug script also reveals the internal variable names used for the player's save data.

SWF#

In Gacha Club's SWF file, there are many assets being stored, such as: shapes, sprites, texts, images, sounds, fonts, frames, scenes and scripts. This is a normal thing for games made in Adobe Flash as the SWF files appear in other Lunime games.

Shapes#

To do:

  • Find stuff that do not appear or can't be seen in the game, version differences may happen.

Sprites#

To do:

  • Same as above.

In SWF, all sprites are named/shown as DefineSprite, even so, there are some files that are animated but cannot be seen in game. Due to the files not having actual names, we will be naming them by their cls: handle. Guessing by their weird nature and how were they made, it could be taken that Luni created them as tests to check how sprites look in game.

PC version#

An animated slide of all pets in Gacha Club and their shadows. Note that an orange square is present there for no reason. (Click on gif to make it work.) gacha_clubPC_fla.allpets_10177

Texts#

To do:

  • Same as above.

Fonts#

To do:

  • Same as above.

Frames#

To do:

  • Same as above.

Scripts#

To do:

  • Same as above.

Oddities#

  • For some reason, Luni's preset is in Club Gacha preset and in 2nd page of Club VIP preset. The same thing happens with Crydiaa OC preset, with Radd OC preset, and with Senpaibuns OC preset. It's unknown whether this was made intentional or a mistake made by Lunime.
  • In Club Gacha presets on 2nd page and on 2nd page of Club VIP preset, there's another duplicate of Bex's OC preset, though Club VIP uses different name by "TeaCaku".

Version Differences#

  • PC version doesn't have Units, Gacha, Battle, or Minigames available,
  • The Gachatubers preset was removed in the 2023 update for Android and iOS due to featuring now controversial GachaTubers. However, the PC version still has the available preset.
  • PC users are unable to open loot boxes or get currency in the game due to the PC version being a demo.
  • PC version doesn't have online import and export features supported.
