Fission is Microsoft's internally developed Xbox 360 emulator, also known as XeO3 (Xenon trioxide).
Somewhat amusingly, it was discovered that all Xbox games are executed inside xefu, the emulator used on the 360.
The emulator actually only emulates audio and GPU, with a static recompilation providing the CPU translation. Unique configurations of the emulator exist for every game, with modifications geared towards the different GPU behaviors in each game.
