Daytona USA 2: Power Edition is an updated version of Daytona USA 2: Battle on the Edge for the Model 3 arcade system. A home port of this update was not released until 25 years later, when it was included in Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name, though under a different name.
Unused Graphics#
Hidden Dreamcast Logos#
On the final turn of the Advanced Course (Joypolis 2020 Amusement Park), you normally see a normal hedge wall where a Gameworks logo was in Battle on the Edge. However, in an emulator with certain graphics set-ups (low enough to force graphics clipping) you can see a familiar orange spiral clipping through the hedge. This Dreamcast logo disappears as you approach it, first the white background and then the spiral itself. This graphic also appears in the Extra course. In addition, the front straightaway of the beginner's course has a billboard on top of one of the garages that reads "SEGA Dreamcast Cup Series." This game was released just after the Dreamcast's Japanese release, so perhaps they were merely meant as advertising or may have been a hint at a console release.

Battle on the Edge Leftovers#
Astro Waterfall Speedway#
A small bush and a palm tree leaf from Battle On The Edge's Beginner Course can still be found within the texture cache of Power Edition. The textures go unused, as the Beginner Course was changed into an outdoor NASCAR-esque Sega International Speedway in this version.
Chums Gum#
Aside from the Chums Gum billboard in the Beginner Course, there are still some leftover Chums Gum graphics that go unused due to the designated Easy Level Car being rebranded to "J.C. Eagle."
Prototype Course Select#
Power Edition's earlier "Course Select" screen with what appears to be a Yellow Expert Course graphic, presumably a placeholder for the final "Challenge/Mix" graphic.
Unused Sounds#
In Battle on the Edge, audio files related to the aforementioned Chums Gum, Astro Waterfall Speedway, and the Hornet car (as a previously-secret vehicle) can still be heard in Power Edition's Sound Test. In the game's Live Mode, the announcer will still refer to the Beginner Course (Sega International Speedway) as "Forest Dome" and the Easy Level Car (J.C. Eagle) as Chums Gum. Waterfall sound effects are also present, but go unused.
Despite the music vocal setting changed to Dennis St. James when selecting the Mix (Challenge) course in the Japanese version, it only plays Takenobu Mitsuyoshi's voice for the Mix course announcement.
Same as above, but with Takenobu Mitsuyoshi's voice for the English variant of the course (Challenge).
Regional Differences#
The Challenge course is named "MIX" in the Japanese version.
Revisional Differences#
The port included in Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name removes or replaces any references to Daytona and is retitled Sega Racing Classic 2, tying it to the 2009 arcade game "Sega Racing Classic". This also caused the opening theme song by Takenobu Mitsuyoshi to go unused, since the original title is in the lyrics.
It was later included in Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii, this time named Sega Racing Classic 2: Power Edition, and with local multiplayer for up to four players in the Windows version only. Oddly enough, it's based on Battle on the Edge.
