Scholar's Shed Skin |
Skin shed from a sage of the Grand Archives. The ivory wax has hardened, forming a mask. Wax protected the inquirer from exposure to the foulness that permeated the majority of the texts, preventing one's anchor of reason from being too easily washed away. |
This item gets its appearance from the wax-covered heads of the Grand Archives Scholar. It appears to have been scrapped in favor of having the player dunk their heads in wax basins located around the level, which awards them a buff thats identical to the one this item would have provided. |
|
Soldier's Hood |

The name of this hood suggests it would have been worn by the Hollow Soldiers found in Lothric. |

By ingesting a brightbug just before death, the moment at which they glow most brightly, one attains great power for a short time. Often utilized as a last-resort for adventurers who have lost their way. Has no effect in other worlds or for phantoms. |
Consumable item that was obtainable in Dark Souls II. |

Monastery Charm |
Cures poison and restores HP |
A blessed charm. Cures poison and restores HP. Many such charms were blessed in reconstructed ancient ceremonies, carried out in the monastery of Lindelt, now known as the new home of miracles. Though it may lack the power of an original, in circumstances dire enough, an imitation can be quite enough. |
A consumable item that cures poison and restores HP. It was obtainable in Dark Souls II. |

Online play item. Purple crystal inhabited by spirits. Spirits soar to seek enemies from other worlds, conforming to the target's color. Can be used three times, then regenerated with rest at a bonfire. What stuff is it that in the purple crystal resides? Perhaps cinders of Undead, sacrificed to the bonfire. Or perhaps the vengeful spirits of those who fell to foes from distant worlds. |
Blue Sentinels and Darkmoon Knights have an effect similar to the description of this item when being summoned through a concord. A particle effect will spawn from their bodies and travel in the direction of the invader in the host's world. |

Ruined finger of Dark Sun Gwyndolin |
Ruined finger of Dark Sun Gwyndolin. The young crossbreed girl loved her brother, of whom all that remains is this ruined finger. Even so, her love for him will never falter… |
There's a Dried Finger item that allows players to summon more phantoms and opens them to more invasions, but it's unclear if there's a connection. |

Holy Remains |
Sinister vessel made from the skull of a noble king |
Sinister vessel made from the skull of a noble king. Placed on the altar within the catacombs, but its origins are unclear. An ominous air emits from the chalice, gripping the hearts of those who peer at it as if determined to drag them to the world of the dead. |
This item shares its appearance with the chalice found in High Lord Wolnir's lair in the Catacombs of Carthus. When used, it teleports the player to the boss room. |

Iron Seal of the Wolf |
Crest opening the way to Fort Faran, home to the Undead Corps |
Crest opening the way to Fort Faran, home to the Undead Corps. Passed down to cursed undead warriors, the stench of death still lingers. Perhaps Freise of Vinheim will have some use for it… |
Orbeck is the only NPC that hails from Vinheim; there is no character by the name of Freise. The Undead Corps is likely an early name for the Undead Legion, while Fort Faran is likely an early name for Farron Keep. The item's appearance is similar to that of the Watchdogs of Farron covenant item. |
![]() |
Pendant |
No effect |
This faintly warm medal, engraved with the symbol of the Sun, is the ultimate honor, awarded to shoe[sic] who summon the Warrior of Sunlight and complete a goal. The symbol represents Lord Gwyn's Firstborn, who lost his deity status and was expunged from the annals. But the old God of War still watches closely over his warriors. |
Appears to be using an HD remake of the icon for the Pendant from Dark Souls. The item's description seems to be that of an earlier version of the Sunlight Medal players receive for beating a boss with a Warrior of Sunlight covenant member present. |
![]() |
Silver Pendant |
Silver pendant. Deflects Dark. |
Silver pendant engraved with the crest of Artorias. One of the ancient treasures of Anor Londo. Presented to Artorias for facing the Abyss. Effectively deflects the Dark of the Abyss, especially in its magic forms. |
Appears to have the same visual design as the Silver Pendant from Dark Souls. |

Deep Pyromancy Flame (First) |
A flame catalyst used by pyromancers. Pyromancers rouse this flame to wield various fire arts. The flame rewards those with a thirst for power. The more Hollowed one is, the stronger the effect. Effect: Spell power scales with Hollowing. |
Description text is identical to the Dark Pyromancy Flame from Dark Souls 2. Could have functioned similarly, as there are SpEffectParams with "Scale with Hollowing Level" enabled. Would be removed and placed into a new text ID (13410000 to 13500000) and use the description of Pitch-Dark Pyromancy Flame. |

(DS3) Description: This mystical ring was created in a sacrificial rite of Velka, the Goddess of Sin. This magenta-shaded ring is especially rare. Its wearer will lose nothing upon death, and will be freed from any curse whatsoever, but the ring itself breaks. A sacrifice is only worth as much as the life it spares. |
Has descriptions from Dark Souls (Txt ID 127) and Dark Souls 3 (Txt ID 20220) This ring shares its name with the Rare Ring of Sacrifice from Dark Souls. When equipped, it prevents the loss of Souls or Humanity upon death. If the player is killed by a Curse, the effect will vanish upon respawn. However, Dark Souls III does not have a penalty which persists after death due to Curse. It is very likely that the ring was removed from the game for the same reason (whatever that reason may be). |
[N/A] |
Ring of Hiding |
Hides the wearer from Dark Spirits at a distance |
Masks one's presence from adversaries. Hides the wearer from Dark Spirits at a distance. The wearer's presence is obscured, concealing their very existence from invaders of that world. However, if permitted to get close, the effect will fade. |
This item seems to have been reworked into the Obscuring Ring, which is practically identical. |

Yorgh's Ring |
Sometimes deflects spells |
Ring of Sir Yorgh, who sought the blood of a dragon and invaded Shulva. Can deflect spells. When Sir Yorgh faced Sinh, the slumbering dragon, he drew blood with a flash of his steel, but Sinh responded by spewing forth the poison that had long brewed within him, blanketing the city in a miasmic cloud. |
This ring originally appeared in the first DLC expansion for Dark Souls II. Dark Souls III's lore suggests that the name Yorgh may have belonged to a Giant. |

Ancient Dragon Great Shield |
Rare great shield supposedly made from part of an immortal dragon. The scarcity of the material is matched by its strength, and it will not falter when exchanging blows with any sort of weapon. The shield's rarity has precipitated the giving and taking of countless lives. |
There's a used shield known as the Ancient Dragon Greatshield, but it has a different icon. Also has been given the name Immortal Dragon Greatshield by dataminers. |
|
Prince's Shield |
Shield favored by Prince Lothric's brother and protector. The prince, left mute and crippled by the curse, used this shield in order to protect his frail younger brother. |
Prince Lorian wields an enchanted sword, but no shield. It is worth noting that the visual design of this shield complements his other equipment, implicating that it was, at some point, going to be canon that Lorian historically wielded a shield which could be obtained by the player despite Lorian not using a shield in practice (due to specific circumstances). This would have been very similar to how Knight Artorias from Dark Souls wielded only a sword in battle but had a legendary greatshield obtainable by the player. |

||
Blood-stained Short Sword |
Dagger used by citizens of the Undead Commune. The inner blade is lined with fish hook-like barbs, maximising fatality when tangled in the target. It is rumored that this weapon had some sort of ritualistic use, but the truth is unknown. |
The Undead Commune is likely an early name for the Undead Settlement. This name also appears in the descriptions of the Footman's Set and the Hammer of the Giant Tree. |
|
|
Dancer's Short Bow |
Bow born from the soul of the Dancer of the Frigid Valley. Created using a tough Frigid Valley alloy, this bow is astonishingly flexibile, capable of firing powerful arrows. |
This weapon's name suggests that it belongs to the Dancer of the Boreal Valley, but she wields Enchanted Swords, not a bow. Frigid Valley was an early name for the Boreal Valley, first appearing in the Network Test version of the game in the name of the boss it featured, Dancer of the Frigid Valley. This older name also appears in the description of the Frigid Valley Mask. This would be repurposed into the White Birch Bow for The Ringed City DLC, wielded by Halflight, Spear of the Church. |
Foot Soldier Sword |
This sword first appeared in Dark Souls II. |

Hammer of the Four Knights, writhing in the dark. This hammer was made for battle using a mysterious metal, its sharp edge capable of piercing shields and armor easily. Used to mercilessly crush enemies before one's eyes. |

These swords have designs identical to those of the Dark Silver Tracer and Gold Tracer from Dark Souls, with snazzy HD remastered models and textures. |
Hammer of the Giant Tree |
Hammer crafted from the trunk of a great tree that has survived for an overwhelmingly long time. It was said that the old tree posessed[sic] thought, and became an object of worship for citizens of the Undead Commune. With a density and strength unthinkable for wood, it boasts power that can stand up against any metallic weapon. |
The Undead Commune is likely an early name for the Undead Settlement. This name also appears in the descriptions of the Footman's Set and the Blood-stained Short Sword. |

Heavy Four-Pronged Plow |
Four-pronged Plow wielded by the wooden scarecrows, serfs of the forest Sanctuary. The scarecrow serfs would not normally use these four-pronged plows as weapons, but their sharpness makes them very deadly. |
This weapon comes directly from Dark Souls. |
Lothric's Scythe |
Scythe born from the soul of Lothric. Forged for Prince Lothric, this weapon's blade is slightly elongated and boasts beautiful craftmanship. It has a sharp edge contains[sic] a hard alloy, and can rip through anything like paper. |
Prince Lothric is an unarmed magic user. He and his brother are fought in a single boss battle, and they drop a shared Boss Soul known as the Soul of the Twin Princes, which the player can choose to forge into Lothric's Holy Sword or Lorian's Greatsword. The two can then be transposed into the Twin Princes' Greatsword. No mention of a scythe. |

Manikin Sabre |
There are Manikin Claws, but not a sabre. This item is a direct replica of an item from Dark Souls II. |
||
Missionary Axe |
Axe used by the missionaries who endeavored to propagate the Undead Commune, as well as its surrounding lands. The only salvation they offer is death, and any who disobey their teachings will be broken in two. |
Meant to be wielded and dropped by Cathedral Evangelists (c1230). It is still in the character's files. |
