A collection of downsized ports of Backyard Baseball 2001 and Backyard Soccer.
Test Menu#
Boot the game while holding A + Left. After a few seconds, a beep will play; during it, quickly press Up, Down, Left, and Right. The game will then transition to a test menu, which shows a version number of 060 and a build date of June 3, 2005. Four functions are available:
Button Test#
At first, the game asks the player to press several buttons in order. If any of the buttons is pressed out of order, the test fails. Otherwise, the test succeeds. After passing, any of the buttons can be pressed without restrictions. Holding A for a few seconds exits this screen.
Sound Test#
A pretty self-explanatory sound effect test menu. Left and Right can be used to switch through sound effects. A plays the selected sound effect again, B plays each of the sound effects sequentially, and Y exits this screen. The autoplay mode can be interrupted by pressing A again or by exiting the screen.
Memory Test#
A series of checksum tests. Pressing A restarts the test, and B exits this screen, though the game will not register inputs until the tests are concluded.
Video Test#
Two test bars, which can be advanced by pressing A. After the second screen, the game goes back to the test menu hub.
Exit Test Menu#
Instead of exiting into the title screen, the game simply goes to a black screen. As such, the console has to be reset.
