Vinnie the Gooch: Yo, folks! I hate to say it, but our wonderful Sunny Day has left us.
Sunny Day: (distant) It's just for one game, Vinnie!
Vinnie: Sometimes I can still hear her voice!
Sunny: (distant, annoyed) Vinnie!
Vinnie: (ignoring Sunny) Ho, woe is me! Who will tell her father? Who will tell Stephanie [Morgan]? Who will tell her guinea pig?
Sunny: (distant) I don't have a guinea pig!
Vinnie: You don't?!
Sunny: (distant) Oh, so you can hear me?
Vinnie: NO!
Sunny: (distant) Let's just play ball!

Vinnie: Yo, it's me, the Gooch! Sunny's on the field today, which means I get to make as many advertisements as I want.
Sunny: (distant) Wait, what? I didn't say you could do that!
Vinnie: Starting off, folks! Remember to check out the shop for my new book, I Love Baseball, now in Spanish.
Sunny: (distant, annoyed) Vinnie!
Vinnie: And don't forget to stock up on those delicious Goochberry Sodas before they're gone!
Sunny: (distant, increasing irritated) Vinnie!
Vinnie: There's also, of course, my new radio show called–
Sunny: (distant, interrupting) I will call Abner [Dubbleplay]!
Vinnie: (awkward chuckle) I'm just kidding, folks! We here in the Backyard Sports League would never shill out like that!
Sunny: (distant) That's right!
(microphone feedback)
Vinnie: (sotto voce, but close to the microphone) But if you were interested, check out the gift shop now!
Sunny: (distant, indignant) Vinnie!
Vinnie: Heh! Oh, you're right, Sunny. It's time to play ball!

Vinnie: Yo, Sunny! You gonna come back and commentate, or you just gonna chat with Stephanie and Pablo all day?
Sunny: (distant) I'm playing today, Vinnie!
Vinnie: Oh, you are?!
Sunny: (distant) Yes!
Vinnie: In that case, better watch out, folks! She's been practicing defense day and night with your local shortstop!
Sunny: (distant) Thank you, Bubbles!
Vinnie: Even more devastating was the practice on her power swing with Pablo Sanchez!
Sunny: (distant) That's right!
Vinnie: Get your corn dogs ready, and let's see how that practice pays off!

Vinnie: Sunny. My old commentator. Do my eyes deceive me, or are you out on the field right now?
Sunny: (distant) That's right, Vinnie! Sunny Day coming in from out on the field!
Vinnie: Well, let's hope she plays as well as she commentates, folks.
Sunny: (distant) I've been practicing!
Vinnie: With who? [Mr.] Clanky himself?
Sunny: (distant) No, with Bubbles, Pete [Wheeler], and Pablo!
Vinnie: Ho, whoa! Pullin' out all the stops, I see!
Sunny: (distant) That's right, Vinnie! I've come to win!
Vinnie: Now that's the voice of determination, folks! Let's see if those lessons help her out!

Vinnie: How's it goin', folks? I'm the Notorious V.T.G., Vinnie the Gooch, and the girl geeking out with Stephanie was my former co-host, Sunny Day!
Sunny: (distant) I'm still your co-host. It's just the one game!
Vinnie: That's what you said last time!
Sunny: (distant) It's just so fun to be on the field!
Vinnie: Excuses, excuses!
Sunny: (distant) I promise I'll commentate next time.
Vinnie: Nah, this is the Gooch's booth now! In fact, I'm gonna rename the league. Maybe somethin' more along the lines of "Vinnie the Gooch's Baseball League, now featuring Pablo Sanchez"! Has a nice ring to it, don't you think?
Sunny: (distant) But I made the league!
Vinnie: I'm just messin'! I couldn't do that to you!
Sunny: (distant) Phew!
Vinnie: Although I do own the license.
Sunny: (distant) Vinnie!
Vinnie: All right, all right. Let's get to playin' ball!

Sunny: Hi, ho, sports fans! My name is Sunny Day, and with me like always is... Wait, Vinnie?
Vinnie: (distant) Yo!
Sunny: Vinnie! What are you doing way out there?
Vinnie: (distant) I'm playin' ball!
Sunny: Wow. There you have it, folks. Vinnie the Gooch has graduated from commentator to player! Guess this means I need a new co-host! I wonder if Abner–?
Vinnie: (distant, interrupting) Now hold it there! You're not replacing the Gooch with Dubbleplay!
Sunny: Well, are you planning to help commentate?
(microphone feedback)
Vinnie: Yes! Yes, I am!
Sunny: Oh! Why didn't you say so sooner?
Vinnie: Let's just play ball already!

Sunny: Hello, sports fans! I'm Sunny Day! And today, I have a very special game for you! In the field is none other than Vinnie the Gooch!
Vinnie: (distant) How's it goin'?
Sunny: I can't wait to see my favorite color commentator out in the field today!
Vinnie: (distant) I'm the favorite!
Sunny: You will be if you win!
Vinnie: (distant) Who's the favorite if I lose?
Sunny: Abner Dubbleplay, of course!
Vinnie: (distant) That's it! You're goin' down!
Sunny: That's the spirit! Let's play ball!

Sunny: Hi, there, sports fans! Sunny Day live from the booth! Has anyone seen Vinnie?
Vinnie: (distant, shouting) Over here!
Sunny: Vinnie? What are you doing out there?
Vinnie: (distant, shouting) Showin' them how it's done!
Sunny: All righty, folks! It sounds like my co-host has abandoned me, which means you can apply to be the new one!
Vinnie: (distant, shouting) Now, wait! Hang on a minute!
Sunny: That's right, folks! It pays triple my salary now!
Vinnie: (distant, shouting) You get paid?! (beat) Hello?!
Sunny: Let's play ball!

Sunny: Good day, sports fans! Sunny Day commentating live from the booth!
Vinnie: (distant, shouting) And Vinnie the Gooch commentating from on the field!
Sunny: Vinnie! You don't have to shout from there! I can handle it today!
Vinnie: (distant, shouting) No way! I got a microphone just for this!
Sunny: Why are you shouting then?
Vinnie: (distant, shouting) Because this new-fangled technology confounds me!
Sunny: Did you put the batteries in?
(microphone feedback)
Vinnie: Wow, folks! Technology sure is a wonder!
Sunny: That it is, Vinnie. With that all sorted, I say it's time we play ball!

Sunny: Hello to all you sports fans! I'm your host, Sunny Day! You may have noticed the booth is more empty than usual!
Vinnie: (distant) I'm on the field today!
Sunny: That's right, folks! Famous commentator, Vinnie the Gooch, has decided to step out onto the field and show the world his skill!
Vinnie: (distant, shouting) Yeah!
Sunny: He'll become an even more famous player!
Vinnie: (distant) Yeah!
Sunny: Which means I have no choice but to replace him.
Vinnie: (distant, shouting) Wait, what?!
Sunny: You know, I bet Bubbles could help me commentate.
Vinnie: (distant, shouting) Well, now hang on a...
Sunny: She can be the new co-host for all things baseball!
Vinnie: (distant, shouting) You better not!
Sunny: (laughs) Oh, I'm just joking, Vinnie, I could never replace you!
Vinnie: (distant) Phewfft! Don't scare me like that!
Sunny: (laughs) Sorry, Vinnie! With that out of the way, let's play ball!

rowspan="5"; |Both Sunny and Vinnie are playing; the booth is empty

Vinnie: Psst! Sunny! Now's your cue!
Sunny: Vinnie! What are you doing out here?
Vinnie: Playin' ball! What's it look like?
Sunny: No, I'm playing today!
Vinnie: Yeah, well, so am I!
Sunny: Vinnie, if we're both playing, who's commentating?
Vinnie: Oh, uh, well...
Sunny: Well?
Vinnie: Let's play ball!
Sunny: Vinnie!

Sunny: Don't be shy, Vinnie! Now's your moment!
Vinnie: My moment to shine?
Sunny: Yeah!
Vinnie: Playin' baseball.
Sunny: What? Wait, what are you doing out here?
Vinnie: Well, the coach called me to play.
Sunny: The coach called me, too! Who's going to call the game now?
Vinnie: Don't worry! I got these new-fangled bits of technology off of Dmitri [Petrovich]!
Sunny: Clip microphones? Perfect! Oh, thank you, Vinnie.
Vinnie: Eh, don't mention it. Now then, let's play ball!

Vinnie: Yo, Sunny! Who's commentating today?
Sunny: V-Vinnie?
Vinnie: Yo, that's my name!
Sunny: What are you doing?
Vinnie: Askin' who's commentating, you gonna answer or just gawk?
Sunny: Vinnie, you were supposed to be commentating!
Vinnie: No, I'm playin'.
Sunny: Let me see that sheet.
(paper ruffling)
Sunny: See! It has me and... Oh.
Vinnie: See, I'm right there, so who's commentating? (small beat) Sunny?
Sunny: Let's play ball and find out!
Vinnie: Wait, you don't know?!

Sunny: Hi ho from on the field! I'm Sunny Day! And in the booth is the famous Vinnie the Gooch!
Vinnie: (sotto voce) Psst! Sunny!
Sunny: What is it, Vinnie?
Vinnie: There another Vinnie the Gooch, by chance?
Sunny: Nope. You're the one and only– Hey! Wait a minute! What are you doing out here?
Vinnie: Decided to play some ball!
Sunny: Vinnie, you can't just–
Vinnie: (interrupting) It'll be fine!
Sunny: Who's going to–
Vinnie: (interrupting) Relax! I'll still commentate! Nana says, I've gotta voice that carries!
Sunny: Vinnie, that can't possibly work!
Vinnie: Only one way to find out; let's play ball!
Sunny: Vinnie!

Vinnie: Yo! What's up, folks! Today I play ball while Sunny also plays ball. Wait, what?
Sunny: Vinnie! Aren't you commentating?
Vinnie: No, I thought you were!
Sunny: But wait. If I'm out here, and you're not in there, and Stephanie's over there, then, who's the commentator?
Vinnie: What's Stephanie got to do with it?
Sunny: Stephanie is a core part to every baseball game!
Vinnie: Whatever you say, still doesn't answer as to who's commentating for us, though.
Sunny: Well... What about us?
Vinnie: Commentate and play ball.
Sunny: Yeah!
Vinnie: Has that been done before?
Sunny: Let's be the first!
Vinnie: All right, I'll try it. Let's play ball!

These lines are supposed to be used in the game intros when either one or both of the commentators Sunny Day and Vinnie the Gooch are playing on the field. However, the game uses the standard intro lines as if Sunny and Vinnie are commentating as normal regardless of their participation in the game. Aside from that, it seems that from these lines, Vinnie doesn't want Abner Dubbleplay (the second Backyard Baseball color commentator) to replace him again.
