Help us out and add them.

Originally meant to be a tech-demo for the engine used in upcoming titles, BONEWORKS is a VR-Only sandbox/story game that is on-par with Half-Life for its revolution of physics based VR gameplay.

To do:
All images are currently in JPEG format, and should be replaced with appropriate images, also there's so much more.

Unused Items#

To do:
Upload BETTER pictures, and more pictures in general.

Flip knife#

A pocket knife that can be flipped open with the press of the trigger.

Fulton Balloon#

A pump-action balloon launcher, when firing spawns a plain balloon, and uses unique 40mm Grenade shells, and does not consume ammo.

It can be pumped freely, which ejects any unspent rounds, with a 'B' stenciled on the capsule itself, it is theorized this would behave like the real-life system of the same name.

HoiPoi Capsule#

(Technically used in the arenas to spawn enemies, This variant is spawnable. Can be picked up and used, it results in spawning a crowbar instead of an enemy.)

Area Debugger#

A device that displays all entities in an area in a green box, it's made of an Eder 22 pistol frame, and a target. While it's used in the first few versions of the Museum Basement sandbox map, it was deactivated and no longer appears, though unityexplorer can easily re-enable it.

Balloon Magazine#

A purple M16 magazine that shoots balloons instead of bullets.

Unused Textures#

To do:
Upload the textures.

In the game's files, there's quite a few unused textures, relating to weapons, geometry and other things that never saw the light of day.

Unused Level Geometry#

To do:
Upload images PER level that showcase said re-enabled level geometry.

A lot of the levels in BONEWORKS (with no exception to the ones shown pre-release) contain cut geometry for both optimization and from revisional changes.

Museum of Technical Demonstration#

PIPECLIMBER#

A pipe climbing segment that was removed from the climbing demonstration area, presumably because it was a little too much this early in the game, or it was too big and was replaced so they could include the rope.

"Christmas Tree" Slow-Motion device#

An unused 'Christmas Tree' Slow-Motion device, probably a placeholder before they had the proper slow motion demonstration in place.

Reclamation Bin Tutorial#

Some unused text located in the tutorial area for the Reclamation Bin, showing an unused game mechanic where instead of Ammo, the player would of bought items with "Geometry Credits".

Firearm Tutorial#

An unused board explaining Firearm Handling to the user.

Throne Room#

An area can be re-enabled. You can enter through going around the level loader.

Redacted Chamber#

A cloud of fog can be re-enabled, it surrounds the starting chamber.

The level selection device from back when the game was a tech demo, both in portable and immobile form. Seen in an older build of the game, Nonfunctional in this level, either due to the code for it to function, or the levels for it being axed.

Two locations are listed; DeadFM and TC-04 (redacted chamber's old name) With DeadFM being an upcoming project by SLZ, as well as something they worked on alongside BONEWORKS' earlier stages. A portable version of the level selection device.

A panel with unused text details a modding department, given that redacted chamber was added in an update later on in the games life, and that there's references to LavaGang (a modding community for the game), It's possible the entire aspect of modding being a supported feature would've been implemented before BONELAB became a thing.

Oddities#

FMV File Names#

For some strange reason, all 3 major-story cutscenes are labelled as "TEMP", implying that they overwrote their temporary videos with the final ones.
