Title Screen and Menus#
Prototype B |
Vs. System |
Final |
|---|---|---|
- The title screen is less simpler than Prototype A, but it's still more basic-looking. It also includes a theme that is unused in the final game, 28 seconds of which fall unused in the prototype itself due to the autodemo topping out and playing the "Game Over" music.
- There are no fireworks on.
- The copyright text begins with a "TM" in this version, and it shows "(C)1987 TENGEN." instead of "(C)1987 TENGEN".
- The screen border is different, being mainly green with hints of red, lacking an inner border.
- The main menu has a different logo that doesn't assemble itself compared to the final, lacking "THE SOVIET MIND GAME".
- The differences in the logo also carry into the gameplay HUD.
- The autodemo is not properly recorded yet, so the demo places all the blocks to the left of the screen.
- Also, the main menu music continues into the demo rather than it being silent.
- The menus (except for the title screen) are missing their license info.
- The only options on the main menu are "1 PLAYER" and "2 PLAYER"; there are no cooperative or versus computer modes.
- The menu sound effects differ from the final.
- There are no handicap or music menus. Only two tracks play in-game: Loginska in 1 player mode and Bradinsky in 2 player mode.

- The HUD at the top of the screen in the menus is wider than in the final game.
- Additionally, the rows are "HIGH SCORE", "SCORE" and "LINES", rather than "SCORE", "LINES" and "LEVEL".
- "STATS" is aligned to the right rather than being aligned middlemost left.
