This is a sub-page of Proto:Rayman 3 (Game Boy Advance).

All 3 builds were meant for E3 2002, and used to be pre-release media.

Build 04 (April 18, 2002)#

This prototype is documented on Hidden Palace.

A E3 candidate that was formerly a pre-release build as a candidate for E3.

E3 (Builds 04 to 06)

Final

  • The title screen is no longer a placeholder anymore, and it is completely different from the final.
  • A main menu screen was added, but the player cannot pick any of the options other than "NEW GAME". The font used is the generic "Impact" font.
  • Rayman's sprites got more improved, and detailed.
  • Pressing Start will advance to the next level. This must be done to advance the game as well.
  • Sound effects are present.
  • Music is added, but it plays only in Boulder Brink 2.
  • The ROM header is unchanged.
  • Exit signs were added.
  • There is a bug in this build (along with the pre-alphas) where if you hang the monkey bars in the early version of Boulder Brink, and one of the monkey bars that you hang collapses and, do at the perfect timing, you will forever hang. It can be fixed by pressing Down to get off.

Build 05 (May 13, 2002)#

This prototype is documented on Hidden Palace.

A newer, later version of the E3 build, with a GameCube link option.

  • The GameCube link option can be selected, and brings you up with a screen with crudely drawn text, telling the player to connect the GBA to the GameCube controller port.
    • If you have mGBA, click on "Connect to Dolphin" if you have the Dolphin emulator, and click on "Connect". Make sure to have the "Local computer" option enabled. Not sure if it works.
  • The title screen's top row became slightly corrupted on the menus.
  • Three more levels were added, along with 1 level removed.
  • This is the first build to include music on every single screen of the game.
  • The ROM header was unchanged.
  • Pressing Start will advance to the next level. This must be done to advance the game as well.

Build 06 (May 16, 2002)#

This prototype is documented on Hidden Palace.

A much newer version compared to the April 18, 2002 prototype

  • The ROM header was unchanged.
  • Pressing Start will advance to the next level. This must be done to advance the game as well.
  • Lightning effect is added on Boulder Brink 1.
