Madagascar 3: The Video Game (Xbox 360)

An early build of the Xbox 360 version dated March 3, 2012 was found in a Dev Kit HDD and has been archived by Obscure Gamers. This build predates the final build by 1 month and 1 day.

Differences#

Language Select Screen#

The language select screen is different than the final game in many different ways.

• The background is purple instead of blue.
• It's smaller and shaped slightly different.
• The order of the languages is different.
• The languages listed are all written in English instead of each language name being written in its own language.

The legal screen is smaller and written differently.

DreamWorks Intro#

The DreamWorks intro is different from the final build.

Menu#

Like the language select screen, the menu's background colour is purple, different from the blue used in the final build. This applies for the entire game, for subtitles, the pause menu and such.

First Cutscene#

In the first cutscene of the game after starting a new story, the pictures shown at the start that are supposed to be showing the main characters and the Madagascar 3 logo, instead show the same exact picture of King Julien and Sonya as a placeholder.

Unused Controls Tutorial#

In the unskippable cutscene of Countryside: Mission 1, there is a cut section with Skipper explaining the controls.

Debug Functions#

In this build there are various debug functions.

• In the bottom middle, there is a timer that resets after each loading screen.
• In the bottom right, there are coordinates.
• You are able to freecam around and teleport your character anywhere.

Subtitles#

In this build languages other than English are not dubbed but only subtitled. Some subtitles are yet to be translated either showing the subtitle in English or "N/A".

Marty's Balloons#

In this build Marty's Balloons are black instead of blue.
