This page details one or more prototype versions of Jurassic Park: Rampage Edition.

Jurassic Park: Rampage Edition was criticized for being a cash grab by magazine reviewers like Scary Larry back in the day, having launched to coincide with the home VHS release of the Spielberg adaptation. The original Jurassic Park for Genesis was largely considered by the same reviewers as rushed to make the theatrical release, resulting in a game that was buggy and slow. Despite this, much of the team that worked on Rampage Edition were not involved in making the original, and the game ended up more polished and experimental than its 1993 counterpart.

Where Jurassic Park was largely a linear sidescroller, Rampage Edition makes heavy use of scripted events and large maps, and utilizes an engine that was more performant and more capable than either its predecessor or even what ended up being used in the final. The contrast between the two titles, both with prototypes and historically cynical receptions, makes seeing the game in an unfinished state quite interesting, even if the available prototypes for Rampage Edition are relatively late in development.

Ten prototypes of Rampage Edition were dumped by drx in 2008. They represent the final four weeks of development, culminating in [https://hiddenpalace.org/Jurassic_Park_-_Rampage_Edition_(Jul_19,_1994_prototype) a build dated July 19, 1994] which is byte-for-byte identical to the released game.
