This article has a talk page!

This page details one or more prototype versions of Earthworm Jim (Genesis).

This prototype is documented on Hidden Palace.

This page is rather stubbly and could use some expansion.
Are you a bad enough dude to rescue this article?

SOMETIMES I SEE A TEXT BOX AND I JUST CAN'T HELP MYSSDFGFFDHFGDJGGFSHGDFH

This page sucks.
If you could make it suck less, that would be awesome.
Specifically: A lack of visual comparisons; practically everything here is plagarized from the Hidden Palace documentation.

A late prototype of Earthworm Jim for the Sega Genesis was dumped and released by ExplodedHamster on July 16, 2017. It is dated July 28, 1994, only five days before the American final and eight days before the European final. It was watermarked for the GameFan magazine.

Being a late prototype, the differences are mostly minor.

Differences#

  • In "What the Heck?":
    • There is an extra hook in the ground in the area where Jim must rise the gates (with the lawyer). This was removed from the final.
    • Evil the Cat can be triggered multiple times in the same level if you revisit the area he spawns. This was changed so that he doesn't reappear if you revisit the area.
  • In "Level 5", some additional health pickups after the second conveyor belt were removed. The second hook's hit box is also not positioned properly. A Continue is missing before the boss.
  • In "Intestinal Distress", Doc Duodenum can be killed with the Plasma Gun in one hit.

Bugs#

  • The main boss in New Junk City can cause a glitch where the boss becomes invincible to crates.
