This is a sub-page of Proto:Crash Bandicoot: Warped.

This prototype is documented on Hidden Palace. |
The October 11th, 1998 prototype of Crash Bandicoot: Warped is a review version of the game, presumably dated the same day as the final North American release version. It is the last pre-release build distributed by SCEE, from the red "Review Version" disc. It was released on May 1st, 2021.
Modification dates on the files are identical to the final North American version, though this is likely due to the games having inaccurate file dates more than anything. If the primary volume creation date is taken literally, this build is one second behind the final. It is speculated that this may be a first release candidate which was rejected in favor of the slightly further updated build used as the retail version.
General Differences#
- Only the files corresponding to the title screen, the warp room, and Ski Crazed differ from the final game.

- The secret chamber sign reads "Neodyne Systems" in this version, a pun on "Cyberdyne Systems" from the Terminator series.
