Japanese Demo Levels

This is a sub-page of Proto:Crash Bandicoot: Warped.

As with other regions, some Japanese demo disc compilations also featured exclusive demo levels of the game. The playable levels are Orient Express, Hang'em High, and Hog Ride - which were typically all accessible on the same disc. While the modification dates across the demo compilations may differ, the files are generally dated around October 20th, 1998. The levels appear to have been compiled slightly after the Japanese Store Demo.

General Differences#

• A notice flashes at the top of screen while you are in a level: このソフトは　かいはつちゅうです (This software is under development).
• Unlike other demo levels featured in America and Europe, the pause menu can be accessed here, although the Warp Room option is, logically, not available.

Hang'em High#

• All Super Powers are unlocked by default.
• Crash plays his international hurt sound effect unlike the Japanese Store Demo, suggesting these levels are dated after that version.

Hog Ride#

• Time Trial mode is available by default, as the crystal has already been retrieved. Relic times remain the same as the North American version, making this the only actual difference from the final Japanese release.
