This is a sub-page of Notes:Deltarune.
The names of most music in Deltarune's files conflict with their name on the official soundtrack releases, such as Bandcamp, Spotify, YouTube, and other streaming platforms. Though most are uninteresting, a few can reveal some insight into the game's development and hidden Easter eggs. The following compares the two and adds additional comments if necessary.
Though Chapter 3 and 4's soundtracks are grouped together on official releases, they will not be such on this page for posterity.

|---|---|---|
ANOTHER HIM |
The first of several filenames using the AUDIO_ prefix. This is usually reserved for music "outside of the game world" (menus, etc). |
Beginning |
The first of a few files using Undertale's file formatting (putting mus_ before the track name). This suggests the songs were created during Undertale's development, or at least before the file naming scheme was decided. |

Rude Buster |
Empty Town |
Weird Birds |
Field of Hopes and Dreams |
Referred to in-game as "The Field of Hopes and Dreams". |
Fanfare (from "Rose of Winter") |
Ripped almost verbatim from "Rose of Winter". The extra melody at the end is exclusive to the official soundtrack. |
Lantern |

Rouxls Kaard |
The filename uses Rouxls' Japanese name, for some reason. |
April 2012 |
Hip Shop |
Gallery |
Another one of the few filenames written in all-caps. Oddly, the same cannot be said for the title on the official soundtrack. |
Chaos King |
Darkness Falls |
Only plays when selecting "NO" after death. Another all-caps filename with the AUDIO_ prefix. |
The Circus |
THE WORLD REVOLVING |
Friendship |
THE HOLY |
Another all-caps filename, this time consistent with the soundtrack release's title. |
Your Power |
Oddly, this file is not located in the mus folder in the base directory, unlike all other music tracks. It is instead located inside each chapter's individual directories (e.g. chapter1_windows, chapter2_windows, etc). Why this is the case is unknown. |
A Town Called Hometown |
Slightly slowed and pitched down in-game. |
You Can Always Come Home |
Don't Forget |
Before the Story |
Another all-caps filename with the AUDIO_ prefix, and the only song used in the file select screen to use this format. |
Chapter 2#
Filename |
OST Name |
Comments |
|---|---|---|
Faint Glow |
Oddly does not use the AUDIO_ format, despite it arguably being a track "outside the game world". |
Girl Next Door |
My Castle Town |
Ohhhhohohoho! |
Oddly included in the mus directory despite it (arguably) being a sound effect. |
Queen |
A CYBER'S WORLD? |
The official title is in all-caps, while the filename is not. |
A Simple Diversion |
Almost to the Guys! |
Cool Beat |
Another track with the filename |
When I Get Mad I Dance Like This |
Cyber Battle (Solo) |
The official title of the track contains "(Solo)", despite there not being a non-solo version of it. This could be due to the fact that Cyber Battle significantly changed during development; the version in the mus folder, added after Chapter 3 and 4's release, is the unused and unfinished version. |
When I Get Happy I Dance Like This |
Uses the extra instruments left unused in Chapter 2's files. |
Sound Studio |
Berdly |
Smart Race |
Faint Courage (Game Over) |
Another track using the AUDIO_ prefix, used for the Game Over theme in Chapter 2 and onwards. |
WELCOME TO THE CITY |
Another all-caps title. |
Mini Studio |
Holiday Studio |
Cool Mixtape |
HEY EVERY ! |
Spamton |
NOW'S YOUR CHANCE TO BE A |
Another all-caps title, likely to match Spamton's dialogue. |
Elegant Entrance |
Bluebird of Misfortune |
Pandora Palace |
KEYGEN |
Another all-caps filename, again consistent with the soundtrack release's title. |
Acid Tunnel of Love |
It's Pronounced "Rules" |
Lost Girl |
Referred to as Noelle's "normal" theme, though is used exclusively during her Dark World appearance. The theme she uses for other cutscenes is named |
Ferris Wheel |
Attack of the Killer Queen |
Giga Size |
Powers Combined |
Strangely named; you would think "Giga Size" would use this filename, but this is not the case. |
Knock You Down !! |
The Dark Truth |
Digital Roots |
Deal Gone Wrong |
BIG SHOT |
Another all-caps title, again to match Spamton's dialogue. Labelled as a work in progress in the files for some reason. Maybe in an alternate universe, BIG SHOT could have been even BIGGER... |
A Real Boy! |
Dialtone |
Strangely named; while the song is used after Spamton NEO is defeated, the song also plays beforehand in Spamton's shop. This could be due to "HEY EVERY !" being Spamton's original shop theme, with this music swap being a rather late one. |
sans. |
Strangely named in the files. The filename is the same in Undertale as well, though with the mus_ prefix. On Undertale's 10th anniversary, during the Fangamer livestream, Toby stated that this track was originally made for an early Deltarune concept for a gym located inside Card Castle. |
Chill Jailbreak Alarm to Study and Relax to |
This is (currently) the longest track title on the official soundtrack. |
Until Next Time |
You Can Always Come Home and Before the Story are repeated on Chapter 2's soundtrack release, but other re-used tracks like THE HOLY are not.

Flashback (Excerpt) |
First used in Chapter 2's Weird Route. Pitched and sped up quite a bit on the official release for some reason, though it does not play this way in-game. |
Feature Presentation |
Only available in mp4 format in Chapter 3's exclusive vid directory. |
And Now For Today's Sponsors...! |
MIKE, the BOARD, please! |
Not to be confused with "It's TV Time!", Tenna's boss theme. |
Sandy Board |
Adventure Board |
The filename is a very tongue-in-cheek reference to The Legend of Zelda, of which the boards are based on. |
N/A |
Query? |
Unused in-game and not included in the game's file, only appearing in the official soundtrack release and a pre-release social media post. |
Quiz! |
Another all-caps filename for some reason. |
Dig! Dig! To The Center of the Earth! |
The OST name is likely a reference to The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening; if you use the shovel while Marin is following you, she'll say "Great! Dig it! Dig it! Dig to the center of the Earth!" |
Pushing Buddies |
Also used in the Love Dojo in Chapter 4. |
Ruder Buster |
Physical Challenge |
Strangely titled; no kart minigame is ever played as a "physical challenge". While there is a racing minigame playable in the Green Room, it doesn't use this track. |
Board Clear! |
The official release combines this track with |
Welcome to the Green Room |
Originally shown in the September 2022 status update under the title "Green Room". |
Vapor Buster |
A shorter version was originally teased in the Spamton Sweepstakes during a fight with Shadowguys; though this track only ever plays during the two fights with Water Coolers. |
Paradise, Paradise |
Raft Ride |
The filename implies this was the "World Map" theme for Board 2, the Island board. |
SOUTH OF THE BORDER!! |
Used for the semi-obscure "Tropic of Love" and the lawnmower minigame on Board 2. |
Sound Check |
Raise Up Your Bat |
KING OF ROLYPOLY |
Used for the obscure T-Rank room. |
Glowing Snow |
Slowed down by a lot in the official release and in-game. |
Big City Board |
Unused in-game. Once used for the scrapped Board 3. This can still be heard on the Dog Check screen, though. |
Doom Board |
Metaphysical Challenge |
TV WORLD |
It's TV Time! |
Hall of Fame |
Originally teased in the Spamton Sweepstakes. |
Breath |
Black Knife |
Crickets |
Dump |
SWORD |
All of the Sword Route themes are titled in all caps; likely to mimic the Boards' use of all caps in dialogue. |
NORTHERNLIGHT |
GLACEIR |
BIT ROOTS |
ERAM |
BURNING EYES |
An earlier version of this track without any effects, nightmare_boss_links, is unused in the game's files. |
Chapter 4#
For some reason, many songs in this chapter are written in sentence case; some in the Light World, and some in the Dark World. Considering the fact that this is continued in Chapter 5's OST, this is likely an intentional choice.

Another day in hometown |
Originally shown in the September 2022 status update under the title "Hometown Day". Slightly slowed and pitched down in-game. Oddly, despite being the name of the town itself, "Hometown" is not capitalized. |
Friends |
Castle Funk |
Originally shown in the September 2022 status update under the title "My Funky Town", though the in-game version is twice as long as the one shown in the post, as indicated by the _long suffix in the file name. |
Knock You Down!! (Rhythm Ver.) |
Notably lacking the space before the "!!" compared to the Chapter 2 track name; also applies to in-game. |
Gingerbread House |
One of two tracks in this chapter unusually labeled as a work-in-progress. |
The distance between two |

Very interestingly, the filename is remarkably similar to the line "The Roaring Knight appeared." when fighting the Knight in Chapter 3. |

Dark Sanctuary |
One of two tracks in this chapter unusually labeled as a work-in-progress. |

Gyaa Ha ha! |

A DARK ZONE |
Teased by Toby in a post on Halloween 2024. The all-caps title is likely to match Jackenstein's speech quirk. |

Piano that may not be played that well |
File name shares the kris_piano_ prefix with the tracks that play when Kris plays the piano in Noelle's house. _lower refers to this being a variant of kris_piano_prophecy.ogg played at a lower speed and key. |
Hammer of Justice |
12am |
The Second Sanctuary |
Another file of this song is included in the game under the name church_zone2_alt_longer_test.ogg, which appears to be nearly identical but with a slightly smaller file size and a duration about 50 milliseconds longer. |
Ripple |
The track is composed of several audio files in-game, which are compiled in the soundtrack release. |

This is a reference to the hidden track |

The LEGEND...? |
Reused in Chapter 5. |
With Hope Crossed On Our Hearts |
Titled similarly to the other themes in the Dark Sanctuary, though only used on the Chapter 4 file select after completing the chapter. Also reused in Chapter 5. |

I guess I'm in love |
Weirder Birds |
Your Dad's Best Friend |
Garden of Hopes and Dreams |
Has an intro that plays when first entering the Garden area, then a loop which plays forever after that as well as when returning to the area. Just like its Chapter 1 counterpart, it's titled in-game as "The Garden of Hopes and Dreams". |
Rakuichi Buster |
One of three tracks in this chapter labeled as a work-in-progress. The OST release has a short, six second intro that is not present in the file. |
The Diner Song of Best Friends |
Ride the Board |
Identical to the unused Chapter 1 song Thrash Rating, but with a fade-out at the end. |
Quiet Glade |
Who might you be? |
Petal Dance |
One of three tracks in this chapter labeled as a work-in-progress. The name also implies that one of the sections of the chapter involving the Six Flowers might have been added to the game later, and this song with it. |
Flying Feather |
Sunset of Seven Suns |
An early version of this song was first teased by Toby in shortly before Chapter 5's release. Originally titled "The Sunset of 7 Suns". |
Shop 3 |
First teased in the Winter 2025 Newsletter. This song may be used in other chapters, if Toby's words are to be believed... |
Violet Tactics |
The filename implies this may have originally been the main theme of the entire Castle area, before being replaced by Flower Castle outside of the sequence where Yellow tries to shoot himself with a giant gun. |

Flower King |

Flower Foyer |
Flower Castle |

This track was named Running Water 3 in the Bandcamp soundtrack on the day of Chapter 5's release, before being renamed the same day. |
Beautiful Bathtime |
The file is contained in Chapter 5's |

Has a "mad" version that plays during Pink's intro cutscene in the game, but isn't in the OST. Not to be confused with Cutie Mew Mew Magic, which is named |
