Everything Unlocked |
Unlocks all cars and players. You will need to activate the cheat above first or this cheat will not work. You will also need to wait 12 seconds after activating the cheat above for this cheat to work. After 12 seconds have passed, you may enter this cheat. You cannot exceed the time limit of 24 seconds or the above cheat will reset. |
The unlock everything cheat is pretty tricky to get right. If you fail to activate it under 24 seconds, you will need to enable the "Everything Unlocked (Enable Code)" cheat again.

Playable Warhawk#
His image as seen above is in the character select screen. It is not normally possible to play as him however, with hacks the player can play as him.

Unused Car Select Screen#
Most likely a mockup version of the final car select screen. And also to note, Shadow is presented here as a placeholder before Axel was made.

Unused Cutscenes#

Intro cutscenes for Manslaughter, Warthog and Axel are present in the MOV folder. Only their outro cutscenes are used in-game, with their stories told by loading screen text.

The main difference within the unused level is missing assets. The rubble piles at the lower rear section of the map are not present. The airplane flying in the sky is not present, making the underground section of the map inaccessible. The water tower at the front of the warehouse building is not present. Item Helicopters and pedestrians are not present. The rest of the map appears to be untouched with environmental hazards and destruction objects still present.

Item pickups have been slightly rearranged around the map, only leaving three Health pickups available; within the crusher near the health recharge ramp, at the second story entrance of the warehouse building and inside the suspended airplane. There are no item pickups at the top of the map within the destructible building or at the top of the vertical crusher. There are no available environmental attack pickups and the environmental attack from the suspended airplane's turret has been disabled on this map, regardless if the environmental attack is triggered. Four item pickups are still available in the lower rear section of the map.
The AI has a hard time navigating the lower rear section of the map with missing assets. If an AI manages to follow the player to that section of the map, it will attempt to return to the battle by driving into the corner underneath the warehouse and get stuck. Given the missing assets/airplane and the AI pathfinding issues it's safe to assume the lower rear and underground sections of the map were in the process of being made inaccessible to the player and AI, shrinking the battlefield to give it the "Mini Junkyard" name but ultimately scrapped.

Oddities#
Early Character Designs in Car Select Screen#
Three characters use early designs during the development of Twisted Metal: Black in the car selection screen.
- Billy Ray Stillwell has more of a mutated face, plaided shirt, more messed up hair, and the top of his head has been exposed. The final in-game cutscenes have a less mutated face, the plaided shirt is less noticeable, and his hair is normal.
- Agent Stone has no helmet or gloves, and the word "S.W.A.T." on his right chest and his vest is a bit different. The final in-game cutscenes removes the gloves and the "S.W.A.T." on his right chest and he is now wearing a helmet.
- Raven has black lipstick and a pentagram, while in the final in-game cutscenes she has an ankh and normal red lipstick.
John Doe's Inconsistent Tattoo in Cutscenes#
As development progressed, some of the cutscenes were toned down to avoid controversy. One of them was John Doe's tattoo with the words "One race, one country." along with a swastika-like tattoo. Only the words were removed though you can still catch glimpses of it in the middle and ending cutscenes.
Dummy File#
A dummy file that exists on disc (ZZZDUMMY.BIN) says the following:
Move along, nothing to see here....
Guess there's nothing to see here ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Regional Differences#

|
This page or section needs more images. |
The European version of the game received some changes due to concerns with the game's overall excessive violence and mature themes.
- All of the cutscenes, story, and flavor text in the loading screens were removed in the European version. The "Movies" option on the main menu was replaced with the "Credits" option. Furthermore, the credits sequence was altered remove some of the footage of the cutscenes, replacing them with gameplay footage.
- In the US version, destroying a vehicle will cause the driver to either run out screaming or get thrown out. This was removed in the European version.
- In the US version, the Junkyard level has a plane circling around that can be shot down, which crashes into the level to reveal a secret area. Because the European version was released after 9/11, the level was altered to have the plane already crashed and the secret area opened. However, this makes it impossible to get the "Jet Fatality" bonus.
- Interestingly, gameplay footage of the plane crashing into the Junkyard can actually be seen in the credits.
