Brain Challenge Leftovers#

The game's data contains multiple graphical leftovers from the original Brain Challenge game. Given how the Zeebo uses an implementation of BREW, which was primarily used in cellphones, it's likely that a BREW release of that game was used as a "base" to make this port.

7.bar#

This file contains alternate sprites for the BALANCE minigame. While their appearance resembles the final game, they're stored in the same format as the original Brain Challenge leftovers, being assigned to an 8bpp color palette and lacking a proper alpha channel.

15.bar#

15.bar contains a yellow arrow, like the one seen in the ASCENDING minigame. Its appearance matches the game's other used graphics, though, like the contents of 7.bar, it is stored in the same format as the original Brain Challenge leftovers.

Unused English Strings#

23.bar is a file that contains many text strings in English. They appear to be leftovers from both the original Brain Challenge and Brain Challenge vol.2, given the mention of Focus minigames and the Stress Test mode, but also the outdated credits.

What does the corpus callosum do?



The corpus callosum connects the right and left halves of the brain and handles most of the communication between them. 
How much does a human brain weigh? What animal has the heaviest brain?
An average human brain weighs between 1 and 1.5 kg (2.2 to 3.3 pounds).  Sperm whales have the largest brains on earth, weighing in at 7.8 kg (17.2 pounds).
Is there a difference between the brains of males and females?
Yes, there are many.  For example, on average, male brains are slightly larger than female brains.
Does the brain consume a lot of energy? I feel tired after I run it a lot!
Yes!  The human brain consumes about 20% of the body's energy. That's a lot, considering the brain makes up only 2% of a human's weight.
What animal's brain grows at the fastest rate at birth?
Humans!
Do humans really use only 10% of their brain?
No. Humans actually use most of their brain, just not all at the same time.
What are the main two types of solid matter that make up the brain? 
The brain is made of grey and white matter. Grey matter primarily deals with processing information, while white matter transfers information.
What causes an ice cream headache (brain freeze)?
Ice cream headaches occur when nerves in the roof of your mouth spasm upon contact with extreme cold. These spasms dilate blood vessels in your brain, causing a headache.
Is Brain Challenge the only way to enhance my brain?
No. While Brain Challenge is a good way to sharpen your mind, other activities such as reading, learning new skills, and building healthy relationships can help, too. 
Does the condition of my body affect how well my brain works?
Yes, very much! In addition to doing mental exercises, you should make sure to eat well, get enough sleep, and get plenty of exercise.

What is a prefrontal lobotomy?

The cerebellum coordinates voluntary physical movement, such as moving your arms and legs.

Your heartbeat and other involuntary muscle movements are controlled by the medulla oblongata. 
What is a concussion?
A concussion is a temporary loss of mental function due to a violent blow to the head. 
What is anterograde amnesia?
Anterograde amnesia is a form of amnesia in which a person is unable to create new long-term memories and thus only remembers new information for a few seconds.
True or false: The brain cannot feel pain.
True. Nerves in the brain do not experience pain. Any discomfort you feel in your head is triggered by nerves outside the brain. 
What is procedural memory?
Procedural memory stores how to perform a skill or process. Things such as reading or riding a bike fall into this category.
What is declarative memory?
Declarative memory stores factual information. This type of memory is more likely to be forgotten than procedural memory.  
What is the normal range of the human IQ?
95% of humans have an IQ between 70 and 130.
