To do: |
There's TONS of unused audio from MANY of the characters in the game which are never heard during gameplay and which also hints at stuff such as scrapped gameplay mechanics, missions, mission objectives, side missions, neighborhoods, cutscenes, favors and much more. Some of it even comes from earlier builds of the original 2006 version!
Watch on YouTubeDialogue from the February 2005 Little Italy Party Press Event Demo! These are tied to Aldo and Monk! (This audio can be heard in the IGN, GameSpot and PlayZone coverage of the demo!)
Watch on YouTubeDialogue from the original 2006 version's E3 2005 Demo! (The first soundbite is from Clemenza, the second soundbite is from Emilio the Butcher and the others are from Francis's kidnapper from the Don Is Dead story mission.)
Watch on YouTubeA cut opening for the game. (According to earlier builds of the original 2006 version and internal EA assets, Aldo was involved in a jewelry heist in Midtown which he got arrested over and put into Riker's Island. This audio was from a prison guard. This is the third opening that was created for the game based on the EA assets!)
Watch on YouTubeCut setup for Luca Brasi. (According to earlier builds of the original 2006 version, a police officer describes Luca's backstory and the crimes he has committed for the Corleone family.)
Watch on YouTubeDialogue from Luca Brasi for the Enforcer tutorial mission. (According to earlier builds of the original 2006 version, Luca had completely different dialogue when he spoke to Aldo before ordering him to go over to Emilio the Butcher.)
Watch on YouTubeDialogue from Paulie Gatto for the Grave Situation tutorial mission. (According to earlier builds of the original 2006 version and internal EA assets, the opening cutscene was completely different. Paulie, Aldo and Marty hid in a hearse near Bonasera's funeral home. Paulie kept watch of the college punks who beat up Bonasera's daughter and then ran towards them. Aldo would attack them and chase them into the graveyard but its a trap and he gets locked inside. Marty would pull on the locked graveyard gate to no luck but he and Paulie would enter it another way. This was completely reworked for the final version, making these unused.)
Watch on YouTubeDialogue from Marty "Monk" Malone for the Grave Situation tutorial mission. (According to earlier builds of the original 2006 version, Marty was originally WAY more talkative.)
Watch on YouTubeDialogue from Virgil Sollozzo for the Sleeping With The Fishes story mission. (According to earlier builds of the original 2006 version and internal EA assets, there was a segment of the mission in which Aldo storms the bar and gets in a shootout with the Tattaglia's whilst Sollozzo and Bruno Tattaglia make their escape and drive out of Midtown. They just despawn after Aldo kills Luca's Assassin in the final version, making these unused.)
Watch on YouTubeDialogue from Bruno Tattaglia for the Sleeping With The Fishes story mission. (Same explanation as previous video!)
Watch on YouTubeDialogue from Fredo Corleone for the Don Is Dead story mission. (According to earlier builds of the original 2006 version and internal EA assets, this dialogue was supposed to be used when they are driving in the ambulance and being are chased by the Tattaglia's up to the ambush on Brooklyn Bridge. Within the assets for this mission, it reveals Fredo was originally supposed to drive the ambulance and there is a mention of "player drive by shooting" for Aldo. Only Aldo's crew, the five families and the police can perform drive by shootings in the final version, making these unused. Drive by shooting for Aldo was planned but ultimately cut!)
Watch on YouTubeDialogue from Clemenza for the Tom Is Still Missing story mission. (According to earlier builds of the original 2006 version and internal EA assets, this dialogue was tied to an unknown mission objective and a scrapped gameplay mechanic called "body dumping". Aldo can't dump bodies in the final version, making these unused.)
Watch on YouTubeDialogue from Paulie Gatto tied to the first Corleone rendezvous meeting. (According to earlier builds of the original 2006 version, Paulie appeared at the Corleone Compound after Aldo gets promoted to Enforcer and he asks him to beat up someone named Larry in the basement. This isn't in the final game, making these unused.)
Watch on YouTubeLittle Italy Hospital tannoy audio for the Intensive Care story mission. This was probably ambience audio that was supposed to play as Aldo walks around the hospital before talking to Francis and Marty.
Watch on YouTubeDialogue from Don Corleone for the Intensive Care story mission. (According to internal EA assets, this was positioned to after completing Death To The Traitor. That never happens in the final game, making this unused.)
Watch on YouTubeDialogue from Michael Corleone for the Intensive Care story mission. (According to earlier builds of the original 2006 version and internal EA assets, the scene of him and Enzo the Baker waiting outside the hospital keeping an eye on Tattaglia hitmen from the film was supposed to occur before Sergeant Galtosino and Captain McClusky appear. Enzo was never created for the game, making this unused.)
Watch on YouTubeDialogue from Sergeant Galtosino from an unknown cut mission. (According to earlier builds of the original 2006 version and internal EA assets, this was a side mission called "You Can't Pick Your Friends" which was given by Paulie Gatto, Aldo had to steal important police documents from a police chief's safehouse but they get caught by Sergeant Galtosino and a shootout happens. This was cut, making these unused.)
Watch on YouTubeDialogue from Marty "Monk" Malone for the Fireworks story mission. (According to internal EA assets, this was supposed to play when Aldo approaches and talks to Marty in the brothel on the first floor of Rosa's flower shop. This is actually incomplete as there's an alternate take left in the files!)
Watch on YouTubeDialogue from Clemenza for the Death To The Traitor story mission. (According to earlier builds of the original 2006 version, Clemenza was originally WAY more talkative for the mission.)
Watch on YouTubeDialogue from Clemenza and Corleone family men for the Horseplay story mission. (According to earlier builds of the original 2006 version and internal EA assets, this was the setup for the mission and Queens was a neighborhood planned to be in the game but was cut for time, which led to these being unused.)
Watch on YouTubeDialogue from Rocco Lampone for the Horseplay story mission. (According to earlier builds of the original 2006 version and internal EA assets, these were tied to earlier mission objectives, his reactions based on who Aldo killed and a cut mission objective which was to escape the Woltz Compound. These soundbites don't match what we have to do in the final version at all which is why they're unused.)
Watch on YouTubeDialogue from Jack Woltz for the Horseplay story mission. (According to earlier builds of the original 2006 version and internal EA assets, these were tied to a scrapped mission objective in which Aldo and Rocco had to escape Woltz's Compound silently or through guns blazing and meet up with Tom Hagen which happens after delivering the horses head. We only see the famous horse's head scene in the final version in which it then cuts to black and the mission complete screen appears, making these unused.)
Watch on YouTubeDialogue from Tom Hagen for the Horseplay story mission. (According to earlier builds of the original 2006 version and internal EA assets, these were tied to a scrapped mission objective of Aldo and Rocco meeting Tom Hagen after delivering the horse's head. We only see the famous horse's head scene in the final version in which it then cuts to black and the mission complete screen appears, making these unused.)
Watch on YouTubeDialogue from Tessio for the Tattaglia Contract Hit List. It is unknown which target it was tied to or if it was linked to the snitches system.
Watch on YouTubeDialogue from Francis "Frankie" Malone for an unknown cut mission. (According to earlier builds of the original 2006 version and internal EA assets, there's paragraphs of text tied to her and it turns out this was a scrapped customization mission called "Big Day Out" in which Aldo had to escort Frankie on a date and spend time with her whilst bumping into the Tattaglia's. This was supposed to become available after completing Fireworks.)
Watch on YouTubeDialogue from Sonny Corleone for an unknown cut mission. (According to earlier builds of the original 2006 version and internal EA assets, this is a side mission called "The Weakest Link" which involved the Tattaglia's in trucks on a trade route that Aldo had to steal and bring back to a Corleone warehouse which then had to be defended from the Tattaglia's. This was cut, making these unused.)
Watch on YouTubeDialogue from Marty "Monk" Malone tied to "The Weakest Link". (This is present in earlier builds of the original 2006 version!)
Watch on YouTubeMore dialogue from Sonny Corleone, this time for a scrapped cutscene. (According to internal EA assets, this happened as part of the fifth Corleone rendezvous meeting. Aldo was supposed to meet Sonny on top of the Empire State Building and talk about the Mafia Life. As they then went down the elevator and exited the building, a Corleone family man appears from a car and tells Sonny something. Sonny tells Aldo that Tessio is in trouble in New Jersey and needs his help. Aldo could get in the car and go to New Jersey to do the Tessio side mission or if he refused, Sonny gets in and drives off with the family man instead. This audio is what he is supposed to say to Aldo. Neither of these are in the final version, making these unused.)
Watch on YouTubeDialogue from Michael Corleone for the Recipe For Revenge story mission. (According to earlier builds of the original 2006 version, the end of the mission was originally supposed to take place in New Jersey Docks. This doesn't happen in the final version, making this unused.)
Watch on YouTubeDialogue from Clemenza for an unknown cut mission. (According to internal EA assets, this was a story mission called "Melting Pot War", Clemenza gave the mission, Rocco was a crew member for it and the Stracci and Cuneo families were at war with each other so Aldo had to protect Corleone family businesses and eliminate both families henchmen to end the mob war. This was cut, making these unused.)
Watch on YouTubeDialogue from Clemenza for the Cuneo Contract Hit List. It is unknown which target it was tied to or if it was linked to the snitches system.
Watch on YouTubeDialogue from Bruno Tattaglia for the Now Its Personal story mission. (According to earlier builds of the original 2006 version and internal EA assets, this mission was quite different, particularly the second half. Aldo originally was supposed to meet Bruno in a nightclub. Bruno had Francis at gunpoint, taunted Aldo and springs a trap which leads to a shootout. This doesn't happen in the final version at all, making these unused.)
Watch on YouTubeDialogue from Marty "Monk" Malone for the Now It's Personal story mission. (According to earlier builds of the original 2006 version and internal EA assets, this matches the planned and intended earlier second half of the mission. After Aldo picked up Marty, they had to do some investigating around neighborhoods by interrogating civilians and "snitches". One of them tells the duo to go to a Tattaglia nightclub. Aldo finds Francis in the nightclub alleyway dead and goes on a rampage, killing all the Tattaglia's there. In the midst of the shooting, a thug is wounded and he tells Aldo that his capo ordered the hit on Francis along with telling him where he lives. Aldo races to the capo's apartment and beats him to death with his fists. This was massively reworked for the final version, making these unused.)
Watch on YouTubeDialogue from Tom Hagen for a cut post completion cutscene of Now It's Personal. (According to earlier builds of the original 2006 version, it was unknown who this was tied to until a breakthrough in internal EA assets revealed this was for a scrapped cutscene of a funeral for Francis in which Tom says this dialogue to Aldo and comforts him. No such cutscene exists in the final version, making this unused.)
Watch on YouTubeDialogue from Sonny Corleone for the Sonny's War story mission. (According to earlier builds of the original 2006 version, Sonny was originally WAY more talkative.)

It is unknown why he was cut from it. Internal EA assets confirm he was part of it. Aldo is the only person involved in the mission in the final version, making these unused. He DOES appear in the opening cutscene but disappears when gameplay starts!)
Watch on YouTubeDialogue from Sonny Corleone for the fight between him and Carlo Rizzi. (According to earlier builds of the original 2006 version, the respective dialogue from him and Carlo Rizzi is present. An astonishing breakthrough in internal EA assets revealed that it was supposed to be a cutscene that appears at the end of Sonny's War. Artwork exists for this also!)
Watch on YouTubeDialogue from Marty "Monk" Malone for the Change of Plans story mission. (According to earlier builds of the original 2006 version, someone was with Aldo on the mission and that someone turned out to be Marty. Watch on YouTubeDialogue from Tessio for the It's Only Business story mission. (According to earlier builds of the original 2006 version, Tessio was supposed to say the first line to Tom Hagen exactly like it is in the film but he and Willie Cicci get in the car before he says it. He then was supposed to say the second line when he enters the Embassy Club in Brooklyn.)
Watch on YouTubeDialogue from Willie Cicci for the It's Only Business story mission. (According to earlier builds of the original 2006 version, Willie was supposed to say the first line to Tessio exactly like it is in the film but he and Tessio get in the car before he says it. Watch on YouTubeDialogue from a cut npc known as a Snitch. (According to earlier builds of the original 2006 version, this npc is referenced multiple times for all the family hit setups and had its own snitch text based phrases. This was actually tied to the Contract Hit List. Originally, the hit targets were in hiding and Aldo had to look for these npcs and then interrogate them to find out the current location of the target.)
Watch on YouTubeDialogue from Aldo towards the snitches when he face to faces them. (Same explanation as previous video!)
Watch on YouTubeDialogue from Corleone family men. Most of these are never said by the Corleone's. Aldo can get the film reels whenever he wants, he can't enter the hospitals in free roam but can when doing missions and favors and when he dies he spawns in the medical clinic, not the hospital as he is always outside it and you can get arrested and pay bail.
Watch on YouTubeThis is the same unused Corleone family men advice that Clemenza expresses to Aldo.
Watch on YouTubeDialogue from Clemenza about Aldo being specialized. (This was uncovered in earlier builds of the original 2006 version.
