Regional Differences#

Title Screen#

Removed Story Content#

Removed Death Scene#

In the Japanese version, after finishing the third stage, a cutscene showing one of the protagonist's comrades failing to return to the ship and burning in the atmosphere upon reentry to the planet will play. The whole cutscene was removed from the US version despite the fact that the same thing can happen to the player if they are not careful.

Removed Radio Messages#

There's a lot of messages that help flesh out the friendships and romances between the playable character and his crew that were for the most part completely removed in the English version, and what little plot remained was simplified or toned down, like with the the pilot sacrificing himself to "make the plan a success no matter what" in the sixth stage.

Minigame#

At the weapon selection screen on the first stage, hold A+C and press START and wait while holding down A+C to start the mini-game.
