Revisional Differences

This is a sub-page of Suicide Mouse Relapse.

Version 1.0#

Released on January 20th/21st 2022.

  • Original version of the game, with only five endings, fewer secrets, and a smaller map.

Version 1.2#

Released on February 19th 2022.

  • Adds two new endings. One of them has to do with the forest, and the other has to do with Donald and a brand-new area.
  • Slightly expanded some areas, such as the forest and Mickey's house.
  • Added another death, which is closely related to the new 7th ending.
  • Added skins.
  • Slightly updated the cutscenes for the Blind ending and the Pit death.
  • Added some more Easter eggs.
  • Updated Donald's conversation.
  • Slightly expanded the book in the library.
  • Added a content warning screen.
  • Some typo and bug fixes.
  • Added an "experimental" feature to Debug Mode (a.k.a. Suffering Mode.)

Version 1.5#

Released on August 11th, 2022. During development, this was initially called Version 1.2.5, until its scope grew large enough to be considered more of a major update.

  • The game now has achievements! These can be unlocked by logging into Gamejolt on the title screen. The game also has its own built-in achievements, which can be unlocked without a Gamejolt account. Don't worry, though - these can be synced up, and select achievements will already be unlocked if you've played previous versions of the game.
  • A new ending! I wasn't expecting this either, to be honest. However, I will disclaim ahead of time that it's referred to as Ending 0, as it's really not a replacement for what came before. All of the endings are canon, but Ending 7 is still meant to be the "definitive" one. Turning it into the penultimate one wouldn't be satisfying for... anyone, I guess.
  • Increased sanity effects. There might be some more weird sights around when you wander at low sanity. I'll let you find some of those yourself.
  • Touched up a bunch of old textures. Nothing too major, everything is still very recognizable. It just makes some areas look a little bit more detailed.
  • A small inventory has been added to the top-right corner of the screen. Doesn't do much more than just show you what items you have.
  • Mickey can now knock at the door of any house he passes by. It doesn't affect the gameplay at all; some people just missed this feature from the original.
  • The static on Mickey's face at low sanity now actually moves. Before I was just too lazy to do that, which led to some confusion as to what exactly it was on his face.
  • Fonts are now built directly into the game. Before, I had to package them in with a disclaimer telling you to download them, as the game looked awful without them. Now, you don't need to bother with that. (This didn't actually work. The fonts were not built into the game at all, and the developer had simply failed to test this properly.)
  • Added a small new area or two.
  • Clouds! People wanted those, right?
  • Revamped the title screen to be less "bare bones."
  • The cutscene for the pit death is now slightly more gory.
  • The book in the library now has front and back covers, making it feel more like, you know, a book?
  • A few bug fixes.
  • Some new Easter eggs and secrets, scattered about.

"Version 1.666"#

Not an actual version; rather, this is a "pseudo-version" hiddenwithinV1.5, which can be unlocked by completing the MOUSE_TRAP ARG. Technically released on August 11th 2022, alongside Version 1.5.

  • Unlocks various secrets, such as:
    • The bedroom hidden under the manhole beneath the streetlight, which is required to get into Mirror Mode.
    • A book showcasing scrapped content will appear in the library.
    • Two posters will appear outside the alleyway Donald is sitting in. Interacting with them will make Mickey say they are adverts for plays at a nearby theatre.
    • Oswald the Lucky Rabbit and Felix the Cat will appear at a table in the Taste of Fire bar.
      • Still at the Taste of Fire, one of the other tables will now also have two straws on it.
    • A strange sceptre will appear in the hallway leading to the chase at the end of Ending 7
    • A sort of ring-shaped object will appear upon a mound of dirt in the forest (I wonder what happened to Pluto?)
