This is a sub-page of Subnautica.

|
This page or section needs more audio. |
Subnautica has a pretty decent amount of unused sounds mostly for the fauna and PDA but Ryley and vehicles do to. Most of the sounds are caused by scrapped features or the sounds getting redone and in some cases being cut off.
Vehicles#
These are various scrapped sounds from the vehicles, mostly scrapped/unheard voicelines.

AI_depth_warning_3.wav |
"Warning: Hull integrity compromised." |
Alternate version of the hull integrity critical line, also done in the earlier voice for the Cyclops seen in some of the early access builds. |
|
cavitateyo.wav |
"Warning, vessel tilting excessive noise." |
An alternate line of "Warning, Vessel cavtivating, excessive noise!". |
|
ahead_flank.wav |
"Ahead flank! Emergency speed. (Cuts Off) Activating defensive shields." |
Extended version of the Ahead Flank line with the message "Activating defensive shields" included in the same line. |
|
leak_fix.wav |
"Hull integrity restored! Draining systems initiated." |
Scrapped voiceline for when the Cyclops hull was repaired and the flooding was drained, leftover from a scrapped feature where the Cyclops could flood like a Seabase (aka Habitat) when the Hull Integrity was low. |
|
safe_depth_1.wav |
"Caution, passing safe depth!" |
Unused voiceline for going below the safe depth. Replaced by "Warning: maximum depth reached! Hull damage imminent!" in the final game. |
|
pressure_damage_warning.wav |
"Warning, maximum depth reached, hull damage imminent!" |
Earliest version of the Cyclops crush depth warning, sourced from the PAX 2014 build. The alarm and voiceline is in the same sound file and the voice is, again, completely different. |

hull_breach_warning.wav |
"Emergency: Hull breach detected." |
A leftover voiceline from taking damage or from a scrapped feature where the Seamoth could have hull breaches and flood like a Seabase. |
|
AI_hullfix.wav |
"Hull integrity restored. Draining systems initiated." |
Ditto, would've played when the Seamoth's Hull is repaired and the flooding drained, just like a Seabase. |

AllSystemsGo.wav |
"All systems are go for liftoff. (Cuts Off) Have a pleasant flight, and we hope if you survive you will travel with Alterra again." |
Unused full version of the Neptune Escape Rocket liftoff line. Only "All systems are go for liftoff." is heard normally in-game. |
|
time_capsual_voice.wav |
"Launching Time Capsule." |
Unused alternate version of "Time Capsule jettisoned" line. |
|
end_cin_sfx.wav |
"Ready to launch on your command, captain." |
Earliest version of the ending cutscene, note how the destination was originally Earth (looks like they didn't finalize that part of the lore yet) and the boosters were named differently. Also lacks the Sea Emperor Leviathan's speech. |
|
ending_cin_sfx_11.wav |
"Ready to launch on your command, captain." |
Much later version that is about the same as the final version, minus the "thrusters" part that was probably a last minute change. |
Music#
In the PAX East 2014 demo of Subnautica (build dated April 10th, 2014), there are two songs that go unused in the Earliest Access version and beyond.

dub sub3.wav |
Used for the Inactive Lava Zone in the PAX demo, seems to be an early version of Crash Site (Subnautica OST, Track 29). |
|
newtrack2.wav |
Used for the main menu in the PAX demo, this was also used on the Subnautica channel's video of their booth. |

radio_fix.wav |
"Broadcasting emergency distress signal." |
Would've played when the radio is repaired. This line is almost identical to the one that is used in the final game but done in the older more robotic voice. |
|
radio_msg_voice.wav |
"Captain, a new message has arrived." |
This line likely played when a new message was received. Also in the older more robotic voice for the radio. In the final game, the radio simply makes an alert tone and a radio icon is displayed in the HUD when a new message arrives. |
|
radio_generic.wav |
*Radio Static* |
Unused static sound. |
|
radio_lifepod_17.wav |
"This is an automated distress signal from Aurora Lifepod 17, co-ordinates attached. |
Early version of Lifepod 17's distress signal, Ozzy isn't present in this signal and the old radio voice is here instead. |
|
RadioMushroom24.wav |
"High priority automated message from Aurora Lifepod 13, co-ordinates attached. |
An older version of Lifepod 13's distress signal. This version is also in a different radio voice and adds that Jochi Khasar is Mongolian, but doesn't include a recording of himself saying his name. |
|
RadioRadiationSuit.wav |
"This is an automated distress signal from Lifepod 4, co-ordinates attached. |
This version of Lifepod 4's distress signal doesn't have a recording from any of the crew members, and is instead an old robotic voice detailing the pod's condition and the fate of the crew. |

"main_brief.wav" |
"Primary directive, investigate and eliminate the stratospheric energy field before the colony arrives. If the field remains they will not survive atmospheric entry. In order to disperse the energy threat, explore, study, and modify the planets bio-sphere, geology, and atmosphere. Catalog new species. Secure food and energy and gather data on unusual phenomenon. Mission completion within the eluted time frames is imperative. The forth coming colonist must survive." |
This line is from the old story |
|
"map[ed_2.wav" |
"Region mapped." |
Meant for the minimap before it was scrapped |
|
"mapped (2).wav" |
"Region is now mapped." |
Same as first |
