Silpheed (Sega CD)

This page contains no introduction.
What makes this game notable or what is it about? Are you a bad enough dude to save this article?

Level Select/Cutscene Viewer#

During the introduction sequence, press Down, Down, Up, Up, Right, Left, Right, Left, A, B, Start. A stage select option will be added to the main menu. Stages 1 through 11 are the actual stages, and 12 and higher are the cutscenes.

Debug Mode#

To enter the debug mode: During the introduction sequence (Not in IPL; Not in Game Arts Logo Sequence), press Left, A, B, Up, Down, Up, Up, Left, Right, C, Right, Down on Controller 2.

Careful, you'll lose an eye.

This page or section needs more images.
There's a whole lotta words here, but not enough pictures. Please fix this.
Specifically: Post screenshot and confirm it's working in real console.

Voice Test#

On the title screen, press A + B + C on Controller 2 and select "Option" to change sound test to voice test in option mode.

Unused Music#

This game used built-in sound chip music instead of CD-DA.

Regional Differences#

Voice#

US and European version deleted a voice clip at the beginning of the first phase of the Allied pilot saying "Goddamn sightseers! Time to go back to hell!", although it can be heard in the Voice test.

Cutscene#

The Japanese version comes with Japanese subtitles for the Cutscene after Stage 1 is cleared. Oddly, other Cutscenes that have voices do not.
