This is a sub-page of Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask.
The first Japanese release of Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask has a feature that lets players make their own profile (ナゾトキプロフィール "Puzzle-Solving Profile") and share it with other people via StreetPass. This was removed for the international versions and the Japanese Plus release.
Explanation Text#
The end of Layton's explanation for how to use the trunk has three text boxes on the profile feature. Naturally, this text is not present in other versions.

Profile Features#
Main Menu#
A profile shows the player's title and name, plus some statistics about their save file:
- ノーヒントかいめい: How many puzzles they have solved without hints, out of total puzzles solved
- れんぞくかいめい: Their longest streak for solving puzzles
- あとまわしかいすう: How many times they decided to quit a newly encountered puzzle
- ナゾプレイじかん: How much time they have spent in puzzles, in HH:MM:SS
The main menu options are:
- デザインへんしゅう: Change designs
- かたがきへんしゅう: Change title
- だれかのナゾトキプロフィール: View other players' profiles (up to 80 can be stored)
- ゲームコインショップ: Go to shop for customizations
- すれちがいとうろく: Enable StreetPass
- すれちがいをやめる: Disable StreetPass

Profile Title#
Title Selection Menu#
The player can select a title for themselves by picking and joining two phrases from a list, optionally with an interpunct or one of the Japanese particles の, な, が, or と.

On a new file, the game gives 15 phrases to pick from, and automatically creates a title for the player with their first two phrases, combined with の. The player can have up to 90 phrases.
It is random as to exactly which phrases the player gets over the course of the game, and in what order. The full list of phrases in the game's data seems to contain over 90 options.
Unlocking Title Phrases#
A phrase is unlocked for every 5 Hint Coins collected by the player, with a total of 48 phrases from the 240 collectable Hint Coins. Finishing the game and solving all 150 puzzles will respectively unlock another 5 and 10 phrases. Finally, the last 12 are from collecting all the flags in each stage of the horseback riding minigame: 3 for Luke's Gallop, 4 for Emmy's Stride, and 5 for Layton's Run.

Main Shop Menu#
Profiles can be customized with an avatar (アイコン "icon"), a themed design for the statistics windows, and a frame and a background for the top screen. The player can spend Play Coins to get more customization options: 5 for an avatar, or 3 for a design.
