Semi-Inaccessible Sync Pairs

This article has a talk page!
view on tcrf.net

This is a sub-page of Pokémon Masters EX.

To do:

  • Sync Pair Dex Entries
  • Special Collaboration pairs.

As expected with a game of this nature some characters will become unobtainable overtime.

Starter Eggs#

These are the Egg Pokemon Professor Bellis gives you at the start of the game, they need to be hatched differently compared to every Eggmon that followed. As you can imagine being starters, you can only pick one. These count as real Sync Pairs in the Pokedex unlike future Bulbasaur, Charmander or Squirtle eggs and hatch as base potential 3*s rather than 1*s. They also have entirely different movesets, although they aren't very good. It's better to keep it for collection flex. None of these have a Sync Pair Stories.

Player & Bulbasaur#

This egg Pokemon is the only one of the three starters to not have a 3-bar Move, instead it has Solar Beam. It's also the only egg Pokemon to have Dire Hit over X Sp Atk, a Physical Attack and a Physical Sync Move. Can be evolved into Ivysaur and Venusaur.

Jessie & Arbok#

Jessie was the first of the two members of Team Rocket from the Pokémon anime to be made playable, introduced as a Special Strike Sync Pair on July 9th 2020 and could be obtained for 70 days. She initially had no voice acting when she was first introduced, but would later get proper voice lines by the time James became playable. Parker (Youngster) & Cottonee#

The most unique out of the Sync Pair here, this is the only playable Sync Pair to not be scoutable, be it either as a free reward (Jessie, James, Bugsy) or as part of a gacha banner (Ash). Instead, he is only playable as part of a fixed team during the Double Trouble event (the same event that made Jessie playable). This is also currently the only Sync Pair to use a Cottonee.

James & Weezing#

And make it double! James was the second of the two members of Team Rocket from the Pokémon anime to be made playable, introduced as a Tech Sync Pair on September 17th 2020 and could be obtained for 130 days. This means James ran for about 18 days longer then Jessie. Theortically making him a bit more common, but not by much. Interestingly both Jessie and James are classified as coming from Pokémon: Let's Go Pikachu and Let's Go Eevee according to DeNA's 4th Anniversary character render summary.

Giovanni (Classic) & Persian#

The third run-up to Anniversary bonus Sync Pair and conveniently releasing a few days after the Hoenn Villain Arc ended where Giovanni was somewhat present, we have Giovanni & Persian. This Support Giovanni is classified as a "Classic" costume alt despite the only outfit difference being the R on his shirt. Despite this his emotes are still completely unique unlike Event Blue's. This Giovanni first released on August 15th 2022 and later reran February 22nd (also coinciding with a cat day-themed Meowth egg event) and August 20th 2023.

Ash & Pikachu#

Probably the most famous out of the semi-inaccessible Sync Pairs, Ash & Pikachu became a scoutable Special Strike Sync Pair on August 28th 2022 and would be obtainable for 42 days to celebrate the Masters 8 Tournament Arc in the Pokémon Journeys anime. As a Master Fair if he were to rerun he would obtain one of 4 EX Roles which have been added since he was last available. He has been hidden from aspects of the game afterwards, even being omitted from a Masters-centric Famitsu issue releasing in 2024 and his Story Events not being featured in the Trainer Tales Social Media Event which featured all Story Events up to July 2024 except That Classic Thunderbolt and Blazing Battle with Ash.

Helena (Hex Maniac) & Haunter#

The infamous Hex Maniac from Pokémon X and Y joined the game as a free Sync Pair through a Seasonal event. You could obtain Helena & Haunter through the event Otherworldly Encounter starting from October 17th 2022. This event alongside Helena later reran next Halloween season starting on October 18th 2023. The Otherworldly Enounter event did not return for 2024 and confirms Helena and presumably other Event-tied Sync Pair's fates may be in limbo if their event's don't rerun otherwise. Scary.

Player & Alcremie#

I can't believe it's not an Eggmon! This Fairy Support Sync Pair is similar to the Player's Default Pikachu, Torchic and Solgaleo in that it's a Main Character Sync Pair with a Sync Grid. What's also unique about this Sync Pair is that you can choose between 6 different forms of Alcremie, but once selected it never be changed later, so choose wisely. The Alcremies could be obtained from the Sweet and Fancy Special Sync Pair event starting from February 14th 2024. An Alcremie with Ruby Swirl Strawberry decorations was added in 2.53.0 when the event returned for the first time.

Riley & Lucario#

The last of the triple threat Special Sync Pair Events from February 2024, we have almost everyone's favourite Stat Trainer Riley. Riley & Lucario are a Fighting-type Sprint, released as a run-up to the 4.5 Anniversary and serve as aid for the Battle Rally mode where Sprint Sync Pairs are important. Just like with Victor, Riley's 5* Power-Ups were also distributed for free. He can also have an EX Role, Physical Strike unlocked with a Strike Role Cake (not free). Riley could first be obtained from February 19th 2024.

Professor Oak & Nidorino#

Back to old habits it seems, both for DeNA releasing a free Professor Oak Sync Pair around Anniversary time and Oak himself having a feud with his old rival Agatha in a cutscene. This Poison Support was released as a part of the run-up to the 5th Anniversary. A log-in bonus like Victor and Riley for free EX materials also happened. He's the second free-to-play Sync Pair with an unlockable EX Role, being Sprint. Just like with Riley it's coming out of your own Role Cake supplies. This Professor Oak could be obtained starting August 18th 2024.

Lillie (Anniversary 2024) & Solgaleo#

When this Sync Pair leaked not many believed it. A fan-inspired recolor of a fully fledged 2021 Anniversary Master Fair, with a repeat Legendary, being handed out for free? Blasphemy. Some hours later, it was confirmed real from the same 5th Anniversary Trailer that spawned the leak. Lillie & Solgaleo is a free Steel-type Field Sync Pair released starting September 28th 2024 and could be obtained from a Special Story Event Celebrating the game's 5th Anniversary named Fetsive Sun & Moon. Her EX materials were given out via a log-in event just like Riley and Prof. Oak before her. She was also given an EX role, being Field, making her the 2nd Sync Pair in the game to have the Sprint/Field role combination, something extremely valuable for Battle Rally and putting Greta & Breloom's Pokefair status into more questioning.

Clavell (Alt.) & Sprigatito#

As compensation (as some would put it) for Pokemon Violet being ignored entirely for Paldea's representation until Florian's addition, here we have Clavell in his Uva Academy Uniform. He forms a Grass Sprint Sync Pair with Sprigatito. He lacks a unique EX costume per-the-norm but has an EX Role just like his standard counterpart with Quaquaval, but this time it's Tech. Just like with past free Sync Pairs released as a run-up to Anniversary Clavell had a log-in bonus featuring Custom 5★ Power-Ups. This version of Clavell was released starting February 17th 2025, the same day as Juliana funnily enough.

Sync Pair Story

Rosa (Academy) & Deerling#

A rather unique Sync Pair that kicks off a new type of Event Sync Pair. Starting April 31st 2025 to introduce the Academy Event type a completely new Rosa donning the Academy attire with Deerling were added as a Grass Sprint Sync Pair. What makes her unique (besides being a completely new model) is that her Sync Grid can be built to whatever purpose you desire; An attacker, a distruptor, a Grassy Terrain and Sun setter. She only starts off with Energy Ball and must learn her other moves through playing the event and collecting orbs. She has a lot of possible grids but only one to keep and also needs to finish an Academy session to be used outside the mode with the new grid. Your ability to build your ideal Rosa was also reliant on if you wanted to pull Lacey and/or Academy Rei for better rewards, the differences are staggering. She also has the Field EX Role making her highly important for most players out the gate (for better or worse if you really want to max her out and make her effective).

Florian & Lechonk#

Two weeks after Academy Rosa released a 2nd buildable "Academy" Sync Pair enrolled into Pasio Academy. Florian & Lechonk are a Normal-type Tech Sync Pair that also start off with almost nothing but can be very interesting once built. He could be obtained from the Paranormal Suddies Club event starting April 15th 2025. He has the Support EX Role which might as well be his true role seeing as how most of the things he can get for himself are related to supporting other Sync Pairs. Also like Academy Rosa building your ideal Academy Florian is reliant on scouting Sync Pairs with Event Bonuses, this time being Morty (Academy) and Marnie (Academy). Good luck passing the Final Exam with him, you'll need it.

Teddy (Hiker) & Rellor#

We're back to doing Trainer Class Sync Pairs, and it's one of the guys we've had since launch? And it's for Golden Week of all things? Teddy and his shiny Rellor are a Bug-type Support Sync Pair. He could be obtained from the Special Event Rolling in Gold starting April 29th 2025. He lacks an EX Role as well an EX in general. It is likely he will re-run for Golden Week again in 2026.

  • All images are the same as any other Hiker, besides his emotes.
