Unused Gamemodes#

AI Revolt#

Watch on YouTube

A special event introduced in the 23.6 update. The main goal was to defend the central computer from waves of attacking robots. It was more of a sub-event than a major one, as there were no notable rewards. Instead, players earned a large number of emblems by completing the mode, which could be spent in another sub-event called Rebel Supply that ran alongside it.

Operation "Snowball"#

Watch on YouTube

A special event that took place in the 22.9 update. The objective was to defend the Christmas train from the Snow Queen's army. The event featured a leaderboard, and the top 100 players with the highest scores were awarded the exclusive Great Event Champion Avatar.

Imposter#

Watch on YouTube

Introduced in the 21.0.0 update, Imposter was an obvious attempt to copy Among Us, letting players complete tasks while trying to find the two imposters. It was removed in the 23.1.0 update and replaced with Sneak and Seek, likely to avoid legal issues with Innersloth.

Boss Battle#

An unfinished mode added in the 3.0.0 update, but it was never playable and got replaced by Flag Capture in the 6.0.0 update. Since it was never released, there are no official rules for it. However, the name suggests it may have involved players teaming up to fight a boss, possibly like the final boss in Raid mode.

3x3 Brawl#

Watch on YouTube

A multiplayer mode added in the 12.2.0 update. Like Team Fight, it featured two teams of three players. However, like Duel, the match wouldn't start until all six players joined. Once ready, you'd team up with two allies to battle three opponents in 2-minute matches.

In the 12.5.0 update, this mode was removed and replaced by Team Strike.

Unused Maps#

Developer's Lab#

Watch on YouTube

A hidden test map used by the developers to test certain features of the game with each other. It's not available in the map selection menu, so regular players can't access it. The map is shaped like a cube with semi-invisible barriers around it. The floor and edges are made of blue blocks, and each corner has stacked dark blue cube columns. In the center of the map are several chests.

Dangerous Roads#

Watch on YouTube

A large multiplayer map added in the Valentine's 9.2.3 update. Set on a forested island, a long river divides the two main areas. The Blue team spawns on a lush side with grass, spruce trees, bridges, and a fort, while the Red team starts on a darker side with hellish trees, netherrack-like terrain, and a gloomier fort. A skull-shaped defense tower sits near the river between both sides.

The map was removed in the 10.3.0 update due to low popularity, but was later reused as a campaign map for Cubota 2.

New Camelot#

Watch on YouTube

A multiplayer map added in the 16.6.0 update. It was set on a mountaintop fortress with two small castles inside a shared courtyard. Each castle featured a dining hall, large library, wide hallways, and stairwells leading to a lower level. Players could drop into the lower dining hall through a hole in the floor. In update 16.7.0, minor changes were made, including a large red tree replacing a statue and added vegetation inside the castles. At the center of the courtyard, a sword was embedded in a stone.

The map was removed in the 17.5.0 update. Although it still appears as an image in Clan War, clicking on it now leads to a random map.

Aircraft Carrier#

Watch on YouTube

A map first found in the game files of the Android version in update 16.1.0, but it wasn’t added to the Map Selection until 16.1.2. During that time, the developers asked fans to vote on whether they wanted the map in the game - and they did. However, the map was later removed in a future update.

Pool Party#

Watch on YouTube

A small map introduced in the 16.7.0 Arcade update and removed sometime between the 18.2.2 and 19.0.0 Cyberpunk updates. It was a reimagining of the original map, which was renamed Classic Pool. Although both maps were separate for a time, Pool Party eventually replaced the original before being removed from the map selection.

Quiet Island#

Watch on YouTube

A map that was originally exclusive to Sandbox mode, but it was temporarily made available for Deathmatch and Team Fight in the 17.3.0 update. During this time, the map received some changes, including more decorations, a floating ship, and a trampoline that launches players very high. The lighting was darker, and several bombs had landed across the island.

Shooting Range#

Watch on YouTube

A small map that was removed from Deathmatch in the 9.0.4 update and from Team Fight in the 10.3.0 update as part of the removal of unpopular maps. The map featured two sides, each with a crow's nest, and several walls in the center for cover. While it was possible to rocket jump out of the map, it was very difficult. A version of this map is also used in the game's old tutorial, though it's slightly different.

Coliseum#

Watch on YouTube

A small multiplayer map set inside an arena surrounded by tall rock pillars. The map featured four closed gates and a cross-shaped bridge in the center with a lava pit underneath. Rock pillars provided cover for players crossing the middle.

This map was removed from Team Fight in the 8.0.0 update.

Unused Weapons#

Irradiated Shovel#

A secret melee weapon added in the 21.8.0 update. It deals instant damage but has no special effects. The weapon has low damage, a slow attack speed, and low mobility, though it has infinite use like all melee weapons. Even if forced into the game, it can't be used no matter the mode, it will display the message "Sorry, this weapon isn't suitable for the current brawl." If you try to use it in matches, the game will unequip your melee weapon entirely. Strangely, the removed Pocket Harpoon and Firework gadgets trigger the same error, suggesting the developers added this as a safeguard to block cheaters from accessing these items.

Unused Features#

Rank#

Ranks were used in early versions of Pixel Gun 3D to track a player's performance. Ranks were divided into sub-ranks, and players could climb higher by earning skill points in both Singleplayer and Multiplayer. The more skill points a player earned, the higher their rank. Each time you leveled up, you received a coin bonus, which increased with every new level.

Originally, there were 8 ranks. The 5.0.0 update raised it to 10, then to 13 in the 6.0.0 update, and finally to 18 in the 8.0.0 update. In the 8.1.0 update, the rank system was replaced by a Level system, and rank icons were changed to numbers.

Lucky Chest#

The Lucky Chest was introduced in the 10.2.0 update and gave players a chance to win a variety of unique items and weapons, some of which were exclusive to the chest, like the Golden Friend, Power Claw, Candy Baton, and Spark Shark. Players could also win craftable weapons, avatars, Royale items, coins, and gems.

The feature was removed in the 21.6.0 update due to growing unpopularity, as the reward pool had become increasingly underwhelming over time.

Tickets#

Tickets were a currency introduced in the 12.0.0 update, mainly used to access Minigames. However, they were removed in the 12.5.0 update after players expressed dislike for the system. After their removal, all minigames (such as Parkour Challenge and Extreme Run) became free to play.

Premium Account#

Premium Account was a feature that gave players double rewards and other bonuses for a limited time. Unlike many other games, it wasn't bought with real money and instead, players used Gems to activate it. While active, players earned double XP and coins, and all premium maps like Ant's Life, Atlantis, and Inside the Code were unlocked.

The feature was removed in the 10.2.0 update, and was replaced in the 12.6.0 update as the VIP Account system (which was later replaced by XP Boosters). Now, all maps are available to all players regardless of VIP status.

Shards#

Shards were a crafting currency used to upgrade modules or extract them from weapons. There were three main ways to get Shards:

  • Dropped by mobs in Raid mode (though not often).
  • Purchased with real money in the shop.
  • Earned from chests, which players received by winning matches. Different chests gave different amounts of Shards. Players could also get them from module crates or buy them from the bank.

Shards were mainly used to upgrade or extract modules from weapons. They were removed in the 16.7.0 update, and any leftover Shards were automatically converted into Coins at a 2:1 ratio.

Potions#

Potions were consumable gadgets that gave players temporary boosts. They could be bought during matches from the Armory for 10 coins. Each potion had a unique effect:

  • Potion of Anti-Gravity: Reduced gravity by 25%, making jumps feel like zero-gravity.
  • Potion of Haste: Increased player movement speed by 25% with any weapon.
  • Potion of Might: Boosted all weapon damage by 25%.
  • Potion of Night Vision: Helped players see in dark maps, useful in levels like Night Hunting or Slender Forest.
  • Potion of Regeneration: Restored 1 life every 10 seconds.
  • Potion of Invisibility (Stealth Potion): Made the player invisible to others in a match.
  • Elixir: One of the earliest items in the game, it let players continue after dying in Campaign mode for 15 coins.
  • Turbo Potion: Greatly increased movement speed and jump height.

Weapon Rental#

Weapon Rental was a feature that appeared randomly after finishing a match. Players would be offered a powerful weapon to try out for two or three matches. After that, they'd get a limited-time offer (usually lasting 1 hour, 30 minutes, or 10 minutes) to buy the weapon at a discount, typically 50% to 70% off, or sometimes with real money. If the weapon was cheaper, the discount might only be 10% or 20%. The weapons offered were usually high-level and unowned ones found at the bottom of each weapon category in the Armory. Rental weapons always matched the player's current level, and if purchased, they would stay at that level. This feature returned in the 16.7.0 update, but was later removed again in an unknown update.

Unused Gadgets#

Resurrection#

Resurrection was a Support gadget added in the 11.1.0 update. When equipped, it let players automatically respawn at the spot where they died.

It was removed in the 15.2.0 update due to community feedback, mainly because it was considered unbalanced. Players who had previously purchased it received a full refund of 190 Gems.

Pocket Harpoon#

The Pocket Harpoon was a Mythical Tools gadget introduced in the 17.5.0 update and later replaced by the Grenade-Teleport in the 22.6.2 update. When used, it fired a short-range harpoon that teleported the player to wherever it landed, even if it hit another player. After use, it had an 11-second cooldown before it could be used again.

Firework#

The Firework was a Throwing gadget introduced in the 11.2.0 update and later replaced by the Flash Grenade in the 22.6.2 update. When thrown, it stayed on the ground until an enemy stepped on or touched it. Once triggered, it launched the enemy into the air with a firework explosion, dealing moderate damage. After using it, players had to wait a short cooldown before using it again.
