PARANORMASIGHT: The Seven Mysteries of Honjo is a horror-mystery visual novel game about 9 characters fighting over each other's magical curse stones to earn the power of the Rite of Resurrection.

Unfinished Art#

Bundled with other UI elements are unfinished portraits of the characters Shogo Okiie, Yakko Sakazaki, and Ayame Tono. There's also unfinished art of the Taiko of Tsugaru's curse echo, with Japanese text reading "Taiko of Tsugaru".

Listed under the filename "prepro", this image appears to be a sprite atlas from another game. Some of the Japanese text reacts "Action!", "Reaction!" and "Attack".

Unused Story Chart thumbnails#

To do: Identify the characters and game from the "2" and "3" thumbnails.

Several thumbnails named for use in the Story Chart timeline are also unused. One is an unfinished version of the first chapter in the game, without color adjustments. The other two feature art from an unknown other game with the numerals "2" and "3" scrawled over them.

Mocking Bird Hint#

Scattered throughout the game are various collectable "Mocking Bird" stickers, and each the player hasn't found yet has a hint to its location available. However, the screen where you can view these hints isn't unlocked until you find your first sticker, which is forced to be the same one each time, Head Hencho, so its hint isn't visible in normal gameplay.

Achievement Translations#

In the game's localisation dictionaries are names and descriptions for each of the game's Steam achievements, even though these only appear in Steam and not the game itself.

Unused Audio#

Within the game's audio files, there are two identical copies of an unused sound effect, a synthetic pulse sound. One is stored with sound effects and named "SampleSE", the other is in its own archive and named "SampleVoice" - notably, the game does not contain voice acting but does have a voice volume slider for the sake of a puzzle.
